Even if there ends up being a winner takes most (like Google w search, or Netflix with streaming) or a sort of duopoly (like the airline biz), the only way the winner(s) can continue to show growth in the long term is via capturing attention and converting that to ad revenue.

Some podcasts have an addictive quality similar to social media, just w/ different engineering. It's pretty impressive how podcast consumption went from a relatively niche behavior to swaying an election, in about ~12 years flat.
