Once again I am leaving the Munich Security Conference in a low mood. Amongst all the noise, the US signalled their plans for Europe, so things are becoming clearer. But things are clearly not good. This is what we now know, and what we have to do about it:🧵1/17

So, I was on a panel at an event once, where Lighthizer was the keynote speaker and much of the audience was buddies of his. And I got into it w a couple of them at dinner, about trade deficits and surpluses. We spent a good ten minutes talking entirely past each other, until I realized something:

This is the most relevant article to NIH and research cuts I’ve seen. Imagine if this was today , how many people would be saying “Why are we studying Gila Monsters and their impact on diabetes ? That’s wasted money !” globalnews.ca/news/9793403...

Today latest lie from Trump/Musk is that the Biden Admin supposedly “abandoned” astronauts in space and now Trump has just ordered Musk to “go get them.” The Biden Admin made this plan with Musk months ago. www.cnn.com/2025/01/28/s...

Basically, the country’s been taken over by a bunch of internet trolls and podcasters who thought running the government would be as easy as complaining about it.

Well, big news. I am planning to move the Space Library to a new home. And I need some help - in 35 years I've never asked for funding, donations or subscriptions for my Space Report, to keep it independent, but now I need to raise some additional funds. www.gofundme.com/f/fund-jonat...
