@ragingmoderates.bsky.social @profgalloway.com @jessicatarlov.bsky.social Hey all! Loved today's pod. One note: Polish cavalry did not charge German tanks during World War 2. This was German and Italian propaganda to ridicule the Polish military. www.theguardian.com/world/2011/a...

“I can…assure you that were this a Republican president…targeting Democrats, I at least would speak out just as vigorously against it because if we are going to respect rule of law, the apparatus of the federal government cannot and should not be used as a partisan tool to bludgeon your enemies."

Have you stretched for The Great American Leap Backwards?

What could our Reichstag Fire moment be?

As a former Game Advisor, I will tell you: Hell hath no fury like gamers scorned.

1. Do not obey in advance. 2. Defend institutions. 3. Beware the one-party state. 4. Take responsibility for the face of the world. 5. Remember professional ethics. 6. Be wary of paramilitaries. 7. Be reflective if you must be armed. 8. Stand out. snyder.substack.com/p/twenty-les...

First they came for the press, and I did not speak out. Then they came for the refugees and immigrants, and I did not speak out. Then they came for students and universities, and I did not speak out. Then they came for…

“The only thing we should fear is that we will surrender our homeland to be plundered by a gang of liars, thieves, and hypocrites. That we will surrender, without a fight, voluntarily, our own future and that of our children.” ~ Alexei Navalny

As a former intelligence officer, I would not have shared these details with anyone who did not need to know, including other colleagues.

“Some people are protected by the law without being bound by it, while others are bound by the law without being protected by it.”

One of my Radical Leftist opinions is the government shouldn't be able to deprive anyone of life, liberty, or property without due process of law

Anyone know a guy who could use these?

I know this first hand. When I was a child, my entire community was branded as spies and sabateurs, justifying our internment inside barbed wire camps for years without due process, trial or charge.

Welcome to Donald Trump’s America, where First Amendment lawyers find themselves compelled to advise people that they have no First Amendment rights.

Alright doomscroll friends, here's a thread to 📌 on safeguarding yourself. First, a guide to protecting yourself from government surveillance as Donald Trump vows to go after his enemies and exploit America’s digital surveillance machine to do so.

Some Democratic member of Congress should propose a bill saying that a POTUS may golf at government expense no more than, say, once every 14 days, and must reimburse the Treasury for anything beyond that.

So, with these tariffs we’re going to make it illegal for American companies to raise their prices, right?

Just gotta boot up the ole backyard furnace next to my chicken coop to combat those high iron and steel prices. Doing my small part for America’s Great Leap Forward.

In January 1941, President Franklin Roosevelt answered the "America First" of his day - and foresaw the "America First" of ours: "We must especially beware of that small group of selfish men who would clip the wings of the American eagle in order to feather their own nests."

Welcome to the Oval Office. Here's some salt and bread...

Some history to explain what happened in the Oval Office from my just-posted article in @theatlantic.com www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

"Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just: that his justice cannot sleep forever." — Notes on the State of Virginia (1785) www.theatlantic.com/politics/arc...

Vance mistook Ukraine for the Republican congressional caucus

They will have to burn the Oval Office down and rebuild to remove the stench of shame and cowardice Trump and Vance are leaving behind.

“The state will deploy all necessary resources to ensure the safety and health of Texans,” [Governor Abbott spokesman Andrew] Mahaleris said." Like...the measles vaccine? apnews.com/article/meas...
