I can't say I would make a different choice if I had the chance, but it was probably not the healthiest thing I could have done for myself. But it was my parents, so what else could I do?. Yeah, I get it. My brother and I haven't talked for years.

It is so hard. And the effects are lasting. Hospice couldn't believe I had done it alone for years. And I only had them for 4 days.

I was a caregiver for many years to both my parents. In my experience, no one does. In fact, in trying to get some help, a social worker said it wasn't about me. And friends drift off in fear of being asked to help.
