What citizens believe they will benefit from these "government efficiency" efforts? Does any regular person think that their taxes are going down as a result of the Department of Education being gutted? Or as a result of FEMA money being rescinded? Or USAID being halted?

What am I watching? A man from South Africa, taking a break from rummaging through my childrens' data at DOE, in the Oval Office lecturing me about how I need to trust him to make sure government is accountable to the democratically elected officials? Irony is on a permanent sabbatical.

This is not the good thing that he must think it is.

New discoveries don't just happen without basic research.

I think Americans, blessed with relatively stable government for a long time, assume there is someone, some adult, who will step in and make things right before the President does anything REALLY bad. There’s not.

And to think we were worried about TikTok.

So, private citizen Musk has access to our financial information, but the President won't share his tax returns with the American public? We live in an upside-down world.

RFK is knowledgeable enough to be dangerous. He read a study and jumped over 10 steps to come to a conclusion about medical treatment - one that is based in racism. That's not how medical science works.

Welcome to Georgia Tech! Can I interest you in one of our exciting fields of study, such as: * Law without justice * Business without equity * Biology without diversity We also have many extracurricular activities, however please understand you can only be excluded from them, not included.

Violent crimes, and mass shootings especially, are disproportionately committed by the young men to whom the 5th Circuit just granted a right to bear arms. Expect gun carnage in this country to worsen if the Supreme Court affirms this decision.

Yeah, how about not dissolving the air safety advisory commission at the FAA. As your team did last week.

It has been a long year . . .

I surely hope this doesn't last long - we are in the midst of municipal/boe budget planning.

I am having a hard time trying to focus. There are so many ways to contribute and so many injustices to address. I'll do what I can and hope that you will too, and maybe we'll make a difference.

🧵 If you've been hearing about Trump firing 17 Inspectors General and wondering what their roles are and why this matters, you're not alone. Here’s a simple breakdown of what IGs do, the significance of these firings, and the potential implications for the future. (1/15)

The FDA has scrubbed from its website guidance on conducting medical trials with representative numbers of men/women and racial/ethnic minorities. these aren't symbolic issues. Drugs affect men/men, people with different genetic backgrounds differently. talkingpointsmemo.com/edblog/medic...

What better way to say "proud boys, stand back and stand by" . . . the removal of security detail for political enemies and the giving of pardons to criminals convicted of political violence. www.channel3000.com/news/shareab...

NIH funding supports the vast majority of all biomedical research in the United States. Virtually every advance in American medicine and biological science comes from NIH. This is a blow against American science. Call Congress, 202-224-3121.

I'm glad for Republicans - heck, anyone - who is denouncing the pardoning of violent criminals. I'm thankful for those asking Pam Bondi and Pete Hegseth if they will resist unlawful requests from the President. HOWEVER, it's the equivalent of locking the barn door after the horse has bolted.

I spent decades working in reproductive and developmental biology. Unless things have changed since I got my PhD, these definitions are nonsense.

Donald Trump rescinded Biden's action to lower prescription drug costs for Americans on Medicare and Medicaid. There's no other way to spin it. That means more money out-of-pocket for seniors and families. Big Pharma first. Ordinary people last.

Imagine if the headline was, "Trump puts hundreds of violent criminals back on the streets"?

Pardoning people who crushed, beat, and bear-sprayed our law enforcement officers is selfish and sick. Where is the party of law and order?

We had a #Connecticut native and @CCSU/@UConn alumn, in line to succeed the Presidency these last four years. This was a very proud moment for our state and for my #AlmaMater Thank you @SecCardona for your service in this HISTORY making #BidenHarrisAdministration #GoBlueDevils 🙏

But we are going to give PBS and NPR a hard time about public funding?
