I agree with much of what you said - but I have been threatened with death and the ugliest forms of rape, repeatedly, for stating that there are 2 biological sexes (not genders). This despite years of fighting for trans rights. So, disagreeing does bring threats

Not just the rich - e.g., lots of Canadians routinely carry American stocks and bonds in their portfolios. Now we’re moving those funds into Canadian and international markets. Travelling to and investing in America is over for a lot of us - perhaps permanently

This week I received an email from my provincial health department offering me a Covid booster - booked it online - I’m getting it tomorrow morning. Free. And at the end of June I get a hip replaced - also entirely free. So glad I’m Canadian

Bull - it’s not about feelings. Hilary Cass has had to go everywhere with security since she released her report and has received many death and rape threats - from trans folks. Detailed in stories in the Guardian (since you’ll say it’s not true, know that it’s well documented)

There was enormous resistance to universal healthcare - Saskatchewan doctors went on strike - but, led by Canada’s “socialist” CCF/NDP, we got it and we’ve kept it. I’ve had 3 joint replacements & I’m waiting on a 4th. And I’m happy to wait if that’s what universal requires.
