Anything like a VPN, cloudflare or whatever could cause intermittent hiccups. You could flush your DNS cache as well. Somehow this silly thing could help. Could also be Bluetooth going haywire.

(Clearly I am filling in some blanks here but it's the discussion I'd love to have at the start of a new year πŸ˜…)

If you want to get spicy about something, just talk about how companies let PMs be the designers. Because those actually ship garbage that they think is good; And it's not at all related to "good enough", it's horrible leadership and accountability all the way down.

It's just a bit disappointing to see it in hot take form because a ton of people follow you and could fall down the perfectionism hole. I would have never been where I am if I didn't, and some point, follow someone's guidance that said "this is enough" and then a bunch of people loved it.

What happens when you don’t end up shipping anything?

I was skeptical for the first month because I didn't really need it amongst my other cameras, but after @om.co told me to give it a chance I had to tell him very astutely that he was right and this thing is awesome. And now with the 3.0 firmware it's even kicked in another gear 🀩

Sad. And very expected.

Oh, I like this a lot. But this is an ultra only fave, isn't it? :(

There are 4 basic scaffolding ones (1 from each corner of the screen.) And then the 'content area' has it's own grid. All together they deliver cohesion, consistency, and easy decision making; which is what they were meant for originally anyway.
comment in response to post
As with anything, the answer is "it depends" or "use the right tool for the job". To me, the biggest misconception with grids is that they are mutually exclusive with fluidity of the screen. Grids still exist; there are just a couple at the same time that govern the whole system at once.

I had the same experience with the X3's and returned them for Cloudswift. And I mostly use them for HIIT workouts.

That sucks. I don't know how it does so well at Meta, but for anyone having spent some significant time there, we all feel like jumping into a pit of snakes when we leave and are faced with Slack πŸ™ƒ

Yep and they are making billions elsewhere, sadly.

My biased take is that we need long form post-based comms as the main channel, and chat secondary. My hope is that Linear will find a way to move itself there potentially.

s/chat firehose apps/internal collaboration and communication Slack is truly on the levels of insidious on our psyches as social media

This is because everyone who is visible is focused on sharing half-baked ideas that hit a lizard brain of some (younger) people for profit, instead of a less income driven, calm information sharing approach of 15-20 years ago. And the people who are doing the meaningful work are not that visible.

I mean... you can get a 120hz panel on AliExpress? ;)
comment in response to post
It's a fine solution for that honestly. If you don't care about dimming you could get some Eve Room switches, and not need a Hue hub.
comment in response to post
They're fine these days. Easy to use, work well with all home systems. I'd only get them if I wanted colors or specific applications they make. Lutron for everything else.
