For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. Matthew 6:21

But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and harmful lusts which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil, for which some have strayed from the faith in their greediness. 1 Timothy 6:8-11

The wicked in his pride persecutes the poor; Let them be caught in the plots which they have devised. For the wicked boasts of his heart’s desire; He blesses the greedy and renounces the LORD. The wicked in his proud countenance does not seek God; God is in none of his thoughts. Psalm 10:1-9

Why would Ukraine agree to any of that as preconditions for a ceasefire? These are the absolute maximal demands Russia could expect Ukraine to admit to in a ceasefire, and only with hardcore security guarantees and significant Russian concessions.

Maybe they are just not as smart as they believe themselves to be?

Let me guess: He asked Ukrainian Government to stop setting Moscow on fire and they told him "only if we get US intel again"?

I notice that the article state "Syrian official Mohammed Sabra said that a public referendum will decide any foreign presence in Syria." This is how it should be done. And I think with Russia bombing hospitals, they will lose the vote.

You can claim that, but then you would be wrong. People who study the state of democracies like IDEA put constitutional monarchies like Denmark and Sweden at the top ranks. Royals just need to have no political power, it is all delegated to elected politicians. www.idea.int/gsod/2023/co...

And just to show that I am not a complete a**hole, here's something from recent times about women in Syria: www.reuters.com/world/middle...

Yes, but I really doubt anyone in Syrian new government have forgotten that Russia used to bomb them and prop up Assad. So I don't really fear close relations between Syria and Russia within the next decade.

I also hope for a democratic transition, but seeing the general state of middle eastern governments this is a big ask. An unelected government that more or less respect human rights in general, does not run torture camps and protect the rights of religious minorities would be OK.

I disagree. While it is not new that Syria have Christmas as a public holiday, it is newsworthy that the New Syrian Government respect the tradition. As many people fear they would be an Islamic extremist government, intolerant of other religions. So great news.

I thought the Z symbol was only for Russian forces invading Ukraine?

Kennedy is really a double-edged sword. He say that the food industry sell unhealthy processed food, which is correct and a major problem. He also says that no vaccine is worth the side effects, which is dangerous misinformation.

No it's "for shareholder profit"

"New Syria" don't have a government yet so your question does not make sense. Raising the flag is a sign of willingness of cooperation

I'll admit it is a bit far out and only like 10% chance I am right that Luigi made himself into decoy, 90% they caught the real guy

He might not be the murderer and if not would be doing this to mess up the police investigation (which would require enormous courage to do). There is no confession to murder in the manifesto. So that might also be why he was able to keep it short.

Friendly reminder that there are plenty of non-religious atrocities. Just in this post there is the holocaust, which was NOT done in the name of religion, but in the name of "blut and ehre" - purity of blood of the ethnic German people and honour of the German nation.

Gamers are everyone. You are correct that if we reduce gamers to "people who own a dedicated gaming platform like a PlayStation, a Nintendo Switch or a PC gaming rig" then you will get a lot less women. But when gamers = people who play electronic games it is almost everyone.

You mean explaining his entire plan in detail in front of the hero, a bad guy trope, is not exactly being too stupid to accomplish his goals?

It is a satire of (one of the attempts to provide a) justification for the Russian invasion of Ukraine
