This is incredibly beautiful storytelling.

Explain your @: look, I can’t help when I grew up

The public was 100% ready for trans rights just a few years ago. What we’re seeing now is a massive shift in public opinion after a coordinated and expensive propaganda blitz, one that Dems happily ignored. Trans rights aren’t new. We had them for years and everything was cool.

Ahhhh allergy season. Fuck.

Some more parts of the Big Beautiful Bill just got killed by the Senate parliamentarian, and 1 is big: matching funds from states for SNAP, meant to escalate based on payment error rates. This was I believe the biggest funding cut for SNAP in the bill. SNAP eligibility for undocumenteds is also out.

I’ve been transferring patterns from the tiny paper envelopes to bigger manila envelopes for about two, three evenings now. Cut the paper envelope in half and tape the front to the front and the back to the back. I think I’m about to run out of tape for the third time. SO MANY PATTERNS.

Getting a comment from a friend about wanting to see more of characters from one of my stories turned what was intended to be a one-and-done into an anthology that's getting the next installment put up on AO3 in about a week or so. So yeah, don't underestimate what a positive comment can do.

Am I surprised to be blindsided after a big win? Honestly? No. One, this is a third strike situation, and two despite all evidence to the contrary, I've been doing my best to prepare without being on the edge, ALL the time. My precarious living sitation just got tipped into a live volcano. HELP.

no but like for real can we get some big tattooed left bros who work out a lot and own face masks to just rock up one day like they’re trying to get in on a pickup raid and then either totally sabotage it or lurk around until the feds let their guard down and then get everyone’s names and faces

Remember when I was talking about becoming a better social media user earlier today? This guy Skyla’s screencapped is the guy.

Yeah, part of this is this is what the fifth generation of neoliberal acolytes. The problem is they are too late in the hype cycle of neoliberalism. Neoliberalism already trimmed all the “fat” in the administrative state three generations ago.

In case people think anti-trans sentiment has been a strong, long-standing monolith, this data/article is from 2016. In less than a decade, you've been frogboiled into hating a micropercentage of the population using the same shit that made you hate gay people in the 70s and 80s. Be better.

Typed out two snarky replies to "you love animals more than people you monster" person. Deleted them and just blocked the weirdo instead. I like to think I'm growing as a person who uses social media.

Do it. You don't want to carry that kind of regret your whole life.

Love to see Singer North America have integrity, unlike so many corporations this year. Corporations aren't our friends, but we're safer when it's worth it for them to behave as such. And yes, it's real, I checked.

my favourite ‘fucking with people’ fact is that every year I’ve lived in england- and that’s like fifteen at this point- the hottest day of the year has been hotter than the hottest day where my sister lives in Kenya

1. Fuck those fucking fucks so hard, seriously. 2. Reminder: if the mRNA vaccines make you feel like death, prophylactic antihistamines will help make you feel significantly less like death.

Thanks for the reminder @janemunday.bsky.social. Every summer, I repost this article DROWNING DOES NOT LOOK LIKE DROWNING. To date, I know of FOUR kids who were saved after someone who'd clicked on the link learnt how to spot actual drowning. Take time to read and pass on. slate.com/technology/2...

conservatives: children are property of parents. children do not have autonomy. children do not have a choice if their parents wants them to do something. parents who don't suck ass: what if i want my child to do the thing that makes them happy? conservatives: no that's illegal

(1/5) 📢 Remembering Henrietta Lacks on #Juneteenth: Today we honor the countless contributions of Black Americans—many of which came at great personal cost. Among these stories is Henrietta Lacks, whose immortal legacy has shaped modern medicine without the recognition she or her family deserved.
