I'm totally into this.

Nope. Random Hand (the album) has been a nearly daily play for me since it came out.

We're not at all sad about a certain omission... Not sad at all.... 😢 But seriously they are banging bands, and we don't expect everyone to love our music

Honorable mention to @commonsensekid.co.uk

The six: y'all, Popes of Chilitown, Call Me Malcolm, JB Conspiracy (x2!), Faintest Idea, and Roshambo. Not to mention all the cool shit Andy B is doing!

Counter: in the past 4 years, 6 new to me UK Ska Punk bands have put out albums that have easily plowed their way into my most-listened-to, favorite albums of the past probably 10 years. Not living on your side of the pond hurts so bad right now... (I mean, aside from the other obvious reasons)

No question: Too Many People. So relatable. That said, hearing Want You Bad with a female vocalist makes that song seem so much more legit. Love the original, but it never felt like a dude song for some reason. And the arrangement is so good.

Well, you made a new fan. Between the Ramses shirt, fun horn guy choreography, and relatable tunes, I was told "you should play this band in the car more often so I can learn songs for next time we see them"

Can confirm. Took my wife to see them on Valentine's Day and she wasn't even mad about it.

Holy fuck this would be awesome. Sadly, I'm stuck here in stupid America, the land of whatever the opposite of peace talks is.

I just now decided I need a Catbite x Scooby Doo crossover of some kind.

Solid recommendation. Added to my morning workout UK Ska Punk playlist. Really digging it.

And he did... He has figured out how to open the garbage cans with lids. In particular, he likes the bathroom ones.

Thanks for a truly kick ass valentine's day! My wife and I had a blast and it was once again awesome to meet y'all!

It is legit hilarious that this doofus thinks Reddit is a liberal echo chamber.

Will y'all have And Knuckles vinyl?

Got them last week. Looking forward to awkwardly trying to say hi to y'all again without being weird.

I keep having this discussion with my wife. I quit drinking last April and she has scaled back, but wanted to do dry Jan. She tried to convince me that meant she'd quit booze so I had to quit weed. I keep trying to explain that these are not the same things...

This Dollar Signs news is devastating to me personally. Excited to see everyone else on this tour though, despite my sorrow.

Do you read on a Kindle or some kind of tablet? If so, I'd count that as a physical book. I mean, 90% of my reading is comics on digital formats and if I had a kid tell me that's what they read, I'm not gonna shame them.

Is there a happy medium? I know @devonkaysolutions.bsky.social put out a couple of albums where about half the songs were released as singles then they appeared on a full length. It was kinda win win win: knew some songs but not all when I got the record and could sing at shows on release day.

Do I wish more of my students read a physical book? Sure. But they've become so apathetic to learning that sometimes I gotta compromise. The argument shouldn't be "what constitutes 'reading'?" It should be "why don't Gen Z/Alpha WANT to pick up a book?"

I'm a high school English teacher and I can say, without a doubt, ANY avenue for getting literature in a person's brain counts as reading. I have kids who I'll give a graphic novelization of a book but if it's good enough that they can hang in a literary discussion, that's good enough for me...

Jungle, Grapes, and As I Lay Dying are without question the trifecta of "so you think America was ever great, think again" literature.

Taught this to my AP Lit class a few years ago and they spent most of it asking "why are you making us read this" on account of how brutal it is. By the time they finished, they understood why.

I cannot express enough how happy it makes my old ass that Big D is: a) still kicking and b) very down with taking some of the newer ska bands around the country with them. Truthfully, they were one of the very few bands that my interest in never waned over the years. Pun Intended.
