Getting a grotesque anti-Zohran mailer in your box is bad enough, but then you find out it's been paid for by Michael Bloomberg, Bill Ackman AND DoorDash? That's like getting all sevens on a slot machine and instead of coins shooting out, it's diarrhea

The most infuriating thing about this is that “the paper of record” is behaving like they had nothing to do with this outcome. It’s gaslighting.

I just re-read this and remembered how much I enjoyed it the first time. Easily the least unexpected Champaign connection you'll encounter all week.

I'm not gonna say who this is - other than a well-known yell-at-me contrarian who was a main character on this app, like, last week - but I counted: Jeremy has been in three released movies since The Bear, and I've only heard of one of them. Not exactly Jude Law numbers

As always, I could not be less interested in whether the vibes on Bluesky are bad or not, because I'm too busy writing and posting things like this while my children are napping

Schumer needs to go. Immediately. Trans rights isn't a distraction.

They might not know it, but abandoning trans people is exactly the kind of soul sickness that is gonna look bad on ya when the roll is called. If you care for yourself, your neighbors and nature, that's enough to deserve protection in this life and the next. Otherwise? You're on your own

And it’s gonna cost $500!

Gonna fall back into a Michael Penn cycle thanks to @leighwalton.bsky.social

Of all the weird RETVRN things happening in culture right now, Maroon 5 is about to roll out a record with the PR message of “this is a band album after God knows how many LPs of pop schlock”

Imagine seeing every other major Democratic mayoral hopeful standing together against the psychotic overreach of ICE and still voting for the absent sex pest

Absolutely insane that every ICE agent can't aim into the toilet properly. That's actually a big part of the hiring process

"Bluesky's gonna hate this" well Bluesky's gonna love my silly little site about pop culture where I post about novelizations, bottom 10s of pop charts, weird YouTube videos I like and whatever else is on my mind. look THAT up in your Funk & Wagnalls

Wait, did I fuck up the rankings

The way you can tell this article is nonsense is everything someone thinks “looks terrible” is something that never changed with various updates. Oh, the control panels look fake? Buddy, have I got news for you

We All Know That One Homie Whose Girl Asks to See What's in His Safe

I am beyond delighted to share the first new Hollywood & Spine in more than two years, about a novelization I didn't love, based on a film I love, based on a book I only sort of like. P-p-p-please give it a read!

Ryan Tedder you are banned from the Homie House premises

The only king I acknowledge.

Since probably December my 71-year-old, extremely offline dad - who made it a point of pride when I was a kid of voting for Democrats AND Republicans - has been saying the kind of things that would get you banned off most social apps. Everyone's waiting for that release valve

my man tells this story like a goddam Gil Scott-Heron performance

Dancing so poorly the mayor closes down the fully funded civic center

My latest for The New York Times, on some of the still (officially) unreleased material from across Brian Wilson's career: Adult/Child, Sweet Insanity, The Paley Sessions and more. With insights from Wilson biographers David Leaf and Peter Ames Carlin. www.nytimes.com/2025/06/13/a...

My gentle word of advice to all the social video editors out there, especially those posting about serious issues: when you embed your subtitles, please spell check them. I saw something about Hitler doing the Beer Hall Pooch this morning and I'm still thinking about it.

Is this the most "cognitive dissonance" hit single by a band ever? Trying to think of other examples where the "biggest" song has absolutely nothing to do with the major creative force in the group
