Mark in your calendar then: September 16 will be the first independence parade with la presidenta as Supreme Commander of the Mexican armed forces.... The 15th is the day of the 'shout of independence' — I think that event is more important than the parade and more iconic.

That man is former President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador (AMLO), Sheinbaum was presidenta elect at the time of this images.

AMLO sold the ostentatious presidential jet. Yes, it's clearly populist; most of us Mexicans understand that but support it... 'There cannot be rich rulers while the people are poor'... La presidenta kept up this gesture... personally, I find it adorable.

I love the gringo "leftist purity test" framing... 😂

Also true: Sheinbaum is the incumbent [president], but from the MORENA party, and previously she was the Head of Government (Governor) of Mexico City... Both sides are partially right and wrong here, but there's no reason to be hostile about it.

Sorry to barge in on your conversation. Indeed, Mexico doesn't have a vice president; they had the troublesome habit of attempting coups d'état against presidents.

So when they brand us with that word,
remember:
Our ancestors’ footprints are still here,
older than their borders,
deeper than their laws.
We belong to this land
and it belongs to us.
Long before ‘white’ was a border.

We are not trespassers.
We are the roots they tried to bury.
We are the memory they tried to silence.
Calling us "illegals" on stolen ground
is not just irony
it is the echo of a genocide,
wrapped in a lie.

Our ancestors built civilizations under these same stars,
whispered prayers into these winds,
dug their bones into this earth
long before "legal" and "illegal" were words
invented to divide, erase, and steal.

To witness a foreigner capture the soul of Mexico through their lens is to behold a tender miracle, a mirror of mutual recognition. Son preciosas tus fotos, GRACIAS!

Media lies, just like Mexican media tries to scare the population. The difference is: most Mexicans aren't so easily manipulated anymore. The judiciary was elected by the people, and we chose a progressive court... That's called democracy. But they want to rebrand it as a "power grab".

Excuse me if I don't 100% agree with you, Mr. Just Pat, but La Presidenta didn't pack the courts. It was us Mexican citizens who elected a progressive court, one that aligns with our country's moment of change. We shut the door on Mexican Alitos, Barttets, and Cavanaughs.

Forgive me if I don't fully agree with you, Mr. Alinag... but their popularity isn't due to the "mañaneras". They're popular because they're actually delivering tangible results on most promises. No amount of mañaneras can save the popularity of lazy, old-school, underperforming politicians!

Five of the nine judges I voted for were elected. True, it was a complex election, but I wouldn't call it a failure. I admit my bias—I feel proud of my presidenta. And on top of that, I helped elect FIVE Supreme Court justices!!! How many people in what other countries can boast the same?

Mexicans closed the door of the court to the Mexican Barretts, Alitos, Kavanaughs, Thomases... They're still counting the votes, but so far it seems not a single conservative Supreme Court magistrate is going to be elected.... This is a success for the Mexican people Miss Esther be good
