i work in a factory and strangely at my job we run the machine but also handle our own material, set up our own machines, change out tooling, and even perform some basic maintenance. i was shocked when i started working here because normally that's not the case. makes my job way more interesting.

i tried reading the first book and couldn't finish it, but the scene where they meet is pretty funny to me. aubrey just jamming out and headbanging to classical music because he loves it so much, and maturin getting mad at him about it.

i'm amazed at how impossibly hard those old nes games were, that era of gaming was a million times harder than modern games. honestly i don't think i ever beat any nes game. i never made it past the second level in contra, haha.

far as i know, a runner can steal a base at any time. the pitcher probably had his back to third base and wasn't paying attention, so the runner on third just took off.

scariest individual moment was probably a random jumpscare in one of the resident evil games. but the most scared i've been playing a game was the original resident evil 4. i quit playing because it was too intense for me, i literally couldn't continue because everything freaked me out too much.

the series has several arcs so its not like the narrative keeps building for all 10 books. book 3 is definitely a highlight, possibly the best in the series.

i have an extreme phobia of bugs and spiders, and when i was a kid the sectaurs toys always gave me the creeps. honestly they still do, haha.

i know what that's like, haha. i bought a ton of material for flames of war on sale and i did manage to get them all primed in four basic colors (america, britain, germany, russia) but i've only assembled maybe 20% of them so far. just another huge project to work on.

honestly i don't think i do anything like what you're suggesting. to me "rest" is literally going to bed and lying down to sleep. i certainly don't think of activities like video games or crafting as restful, those are active hobbies i want to spend time on. i guess reading maybe?
