Air filtration is also an incredibly powerful tool In reducing the spread of new Covid variants as well as flu and other airborne viruses.

“I feel obliged to put Trump’s point of view here”.
Why? Is there any truth in it? Evidence in its favour? Support from any qualified and informed expert? Clearly not - or she’d have said so and frames it differently.
Democracy dies in both-sideism and bias.

Appreciate the diplomatic statement but can’t help feeling the irony.

I could spend all day doing this. Place is amazing. We just don't talk about it much because a) we're British and it's embarrassing b) practical patriotism is about recognising what needs fixing, not celebrating what's already been done

For all its flaws, the UK offers protection against discrimination and enforcement of rights that would be the envy of most countries. The rule of law still operates IE prorogation case. There is a lack of right-wing religious rhetoric and indeed religion is largely treated as ridiculous.

Which could have been avoided if the world had simply accepted the inevitability of fascist rule.

West Germany got put back together quite successfully after 1945.

Which is why it’s not enough to vote this administration out of office.
Even if they allow that to happen, unless they’re deradicalised or barred from power, it’ll just be a temporary reprieve like the aftermath of the Beer Hall Putsch.

Just idle curiosity, but is this very different from Hegseth’s version?

Ah.
Wow if true.
Not how I initially interpreted ‘deliver’.

At first, I read this as ‘ship to the IDF’, but AFAIK Israel has no aircraft that could drop such a bomb.
So is it ‘hand over to the Israelis’, or is it ‘send USAF B-52s or B-2s to do the job themselves’?

/2 The hidden premise of the question seems to be there is some hidden cheat code that lawyers know that will solve this. But there’s no cheat code for fascism. You submit to the masked armed thugs or you get brutalized and/or prosecuted. There’s no win scenario…

Not sure what you mean by ‘disposing of’, but the Nuremberg Trials worked out tolerably well.

Sorry, my bad:
*Shooting* pet dogs, not murdering them.
Unlike Noem’s, this one survived the shooting long enough to be euthanised.
The truth matters.

I have two dreams, and this is one.
Also looking forward to the judicial execution of most of the current US administration after due process and fair trials.

Still kinda guessing that this is just somewhere between low key surreal humour & a troll’s attempt to inspire paranoia amongst regime supporters.
In which case I hope the latter are truly convinced that it’s real and work themselves in to a lather obsessing about it.

There *is* no big deal, so long as everything an AI does is then rewritten by a human with a complete knowledge of the subject matter areas the AI is bullshitting about.
Oh…

Hopefully Starmer is running the Chamberlain play: compromising in public to buy time, doing everything to possible away from the spotlight to decouple the U.K. from a US that is now a hostile state actor.

Tbh, after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, I think everyone’s got that memo and non-proliferation is a dead letter.

I don't think you could create a clearer example of why the entire campaign finance system is fucked than how crypto bought these votes over the last few years
and if a few tenths of a percentage point might end up moving Senate and House races in the future, as it has in the past, I get it

I'm not being hyperbolic for impact: there is no functional federal corporate oversight anymore
I wish reporters would make that clear to their readers

Whatever the NRA told people, armed citizens are not going to win a shooting war against law enforcement, never mind the US military.
Fighting back against the Gestapo is essential, that isn’t an effective method.
