I do wish that more stories about the El Salvador prison where Trump disappeared people would note that it’s only different from US prisons in that it’s in another country, not because of the conditions. People are tortured and put in grave danger on American soil every day in our prisons.

One of hundreds of people abducted by ICE and sold to slavery in El Salvador was a 19 year old with no criminal record in the US or Venezuela and no tattoos of any kind. An ICE kidnapper who grabbed him outside his house said, "He's not the one." The other said, "Take him anyway." So they did.

If the U.S. government is going to take the position that, once removed from the United States, folks can’t be brought back, then it sure seems to me that federal courts should be reflexively and categorically barring all removals until they’re 100 percent certain that the removals are lawful.

Among a bunch of other things, bananas tariffs on goods from China are a tax directly on disabled people. Masks, feeding tubes, specialty food, durable medical equipment. I know this is bonus for this admin but incredibly fragile systems being disrupted means we’ll die.
