A lot of them seem to find their voice *right after* all the bad shit happens.
The Mitt Romneys of the world are insufferable.

How do you think they got there in the first place? They have been vetting these people since 2016!
The reason republicans are in Congress is BECAUSE they are in lockstep.

No. The "investments" are buying influencing elections and US policy. The spend on Elon and Trump is akin to Marketing and PR - operational expenses.

He's like Trump in that their value is defined by their ability to get things done for people who actually have a vision and designs on things they want to accomplish - regardless of how deplorable the outcome.
Their wealth is tied to everything being quid pro quo, and they have no humanity

Musk's wealth is dependent upon his ability to facilitate foreign (Saudi, Russian, etc.) "investments." It doesn't matter how the stock of Tesla or any other company he's involved in performs, because his value is as a yes-man, not his business savvy.

Trump is just there as a Musk/Russia/Saudi/whoever figurehead. He has no morals, values, or ideas.
They pay his legal and campaign fees so he can do what they want.
He's bought and paid for just like the rest of the GOP, always has been.

Perhaps I'm cynical, but I just feel like voters won't care about this hearing by the time the next election cycle comes around.

This is true.
But the reality is that these two things go hand in hand. American democracy, to them, is just an obstacle to profit. They aren't intellectual enough to care what democracy is beyond that.
