What if I told y’all that race is, in fact, not an immutable characteristic? It is a construct created to parce power, opportunity and economic advantage. A person racialized as Black might be 10% African or 100%, but regardless of genetics, they share a common history of exclusion.

The Indigenous People of North America have decided to go back to calling the Gulf of Mexico, “Chalchiuhtlicueyecatl”. It is what the Nahuatl People originally called it as it is the domain of the goddess Chalchiuhtlicue, who is assoc w/water bodies, including the Gulf of Mexico.

This is absolutely--and I cannot stress this enough--not how it is supposed to work. An Executive without functioning internal checks is a constitutional crisis no matter what courts are doing. Courts are a last resort when the Executive is acting unlawfully, and an extremely limited one at that.

Purple Finch can also vary in color - but - unlike House Finch it's not diet related, but genetics. My yard flock is quite colorful - yellow, orange, coral, red and the classic raspberry (AKA "purple") Looking at Cornell's Macaulay Library - it seems the color morphs are flock specific w/ 1/2
