Letting my fiance know that Braxton Berrios (Aka Alix Earle) will be going to Houston is going to save me when I want to just be scrolling later on. lol

According to @andrewkrammer.bsky.social the Vikings “do not anticipate tagging Sam Darnold” ahead of Tuesday’s deadline and will let Darnold test free agency. Get the full scoop and more on Vikings Happy Hour! youtu.be/_uAKFxxFA-0?...

What is the likelihood Sam Darnold looks like an overpaid JAG on any team that isn't the Vikings in 2025? I'll give it a 70% chance.

It’s not shocking that the same people who focused on counting stats as the way to knock McCarthy as a draft prospect are also the same ones who don’t haven’t a nuanced view of the salary cap. It’s also why you will continue to misread the situation, especially with this Vikings front office.

One of my biggest pet peeves in football conversations is the idea of how important it is for players (especially QBs) need to learn from other players. Yes, a good example is helpful, but that’s what coaches are for. Players are focused on their own improvement, not other guys.

My prediction: Vikings tag and trade Darnold to the Rams for their first round pick

I think absent a complete meltdown in the playoffs, you can lock in a Sam Darnold franchise tag. What happens after that is anyone’s guess. 1. They keep him and JJ and have them battle it out 2. They sign him to a short extension using the tag as leverage 3. They tag and trade him

"As excited as I was to draft him, he's confirmed everything that I hoped to see. Our fan base and everyone should be excited about the fact that we've got our young franchise quarterback in the building." - Kevin O’Connell

AVG - 10 million per year Or 1/4th of a Darnold franchise tag Just food for thought

Taking notes of all the JJ McCarthy slander I'm seeing on different apps. When the Vikings move on from Darnold and McCarthy has a great season, you're all going to look like fools, just like you did when you said Kirk was irreplaceable. Having an elite coach and weapons is being underrated here.

I have 0 interest in this for the Vikings. I appreciate everything Sam has done but they need to let another team pay him.

JJ McCarthy sounding off: #Skol

Kirk Cousins, you are a Cleveland Brown

Ben, of course, nails this. It’s not just about Darnold vs McCarthy - which is already a fun debate It’s Darnold vs JJ and a number of other quality starters you could pay instead of Darnold. Greenard + AVG + Cashman = 36.5 million AAV QB Franchise Tag = 41 million Trey Smith? DJ Reed? Ward?

If you followed me on Twitter, you know just how cathartic this Kirk benching news is to me. I was in the trenches for YEARS over there on how the Vikings need to move on and had some really disgusting things said to me just because I didn’t support their favorite QB. Hope some lessons were learned.

Kwesi Adofo-Mensah and Kevin O’Connell should be the Executive of the Year and Coach of the Year. They should both get fat and long contract extensions too.

With the Kirk Cousins benching tonight, a reminder that Kwesi signed these free agents for nearly the same cap hit as Kirk this year. #Skol FA Cap Hit: $25.1M - Greenard: $5.7M - Van Ginkel: $3.4M - Cashman: $3.1M - Jones: $3.5M - Darnold: $5M - Griffin: $4.4M Cousins Cap Hit: $25M

Let Kirk be the lesson not to be fooled by the wizardry of KOC. Let’s celebrate Sam Darnold for what he is doing now and wish him well, just like we did Kirk.

Lots of love for KOC in this analysis and it’s well deserved

Has anyone seen JJ McCarthy on the sideline recently?

Just because the outcome wasn’t ideal doesn’t mean you question the decision. I liked going for it there by KOC
