Fox used to crow that Obama involved the US in five new 'wars'. All of those were aerial bombing campaigns.

*That's* the problem??
comment in response to post
I remember having this argument with my boss at the time. Everything he said he got from Fox.

But this has always been true, not just last year. Roughly 40% of Americans didn't vote going back as far as the numbers go back. The only uptick was during Reconstruction, and 30% of Americans still weren't voting then. The Great Depression didn't change the ratio. WWII didn't change it.

The power of our vote is diminished further every year by lobbying and unlimited donations by the ultra-wealthy. We were never equal under the law in this country, but as the disparity increases we draw closer to an inflection point.

If Kamala was president she would have sought to restore the nuclear treaty with Iran, or some other diplomatic solution. No Democrat would promote war against Iran except in a worst case scenario- no yellowcake, no 'regime change', a clear and present danger. I would trust her to make that call.

.......'it's the Republicans' fault'? There's no other way to finish that sentence.

I remember Adrienne, and hearing the news of her death. Thank you for making this statement.

At least 2K marched to the Atlanta Journal Constitution and rallied, then marched to CNN HQ and rallied there. No coverage to be found in the days after. 2K doesn't sound like a lot in the wake of the recent protests, but in Atlanta in 2003 it was extraordinary.

How the hell would the VA verify a patient's party membership?

I just followed him today. Thanks for investigating....I won't take your word for it.

He's not mocking it, he's celebrating it.

Calling Alt NPS liars equivalent to Trump is reaching, whether you're prepared to admit it or not.

Is there a statewide ban?

You're overstating their influence.

And ABC has an interest in reporting lower, to please the person who approves their mergers. I didn't go there, why did you?
comment in response to post
Because they're a communications hub for protest participants. The media simply isn't reporting about these events; local media doesn't exist anymore, and organizers aren't coordinating with random statisticians to report their numbers, they're posting pictures and video on Alt NPS threads.
comment in response to post
This analysis contains no data about attendance at a large number of protest sites. I don't blame the analyst for this; people aren't calling him to report, but the Alt NPS estimate is higher because they've included more events.

I mean the notification emails you received. Are you sure they came from Facebook? I'd be wary of links.

What message would it send to fly the American flag from a clown car?

He left the party over Trump. Former Republican.

Disagree with him sure, but he's not the enemy.

He's a former military and geopolitical strategist. He's getting it from a different angle- one deeply informed about what happened in Hungary, Turkey, Iran and other failed democracies.

Her badge number is on one of the tines, not in the center, so it isn't covered. The black band is probably a display of mourning. Was an officer killed recently?

And good luck.

Or you are.

I'm aware I don't need your permission. And I understand that black people will be at greater risk on the streets, and if they want to stay home they should, but not because it's 'not their fight'. If we all thought that way there would be no one to fight.
comment in response to post
I'm not. This is not yet the fight of white people- most of us are not being targeted and will likely never be targeted if we mind our own business. But you're not suggesting we should sit out, are you?
comment in response to post
If all of us wait until it's 'our fight' it'll be too late for everyone.

ICE looks more like a militia than a real law enforcement agency. I assume they're hiring anyone who applies to do this work.

The real reason the left falters when defending women in the workplace is that our workplaces are incredibly fucked up. Capitalist excess is seen as the larger problem. Just as feminists have never vigorously pursued putting women in combat roles. How does one do that without endorsing militarism?
