@ellearee.bsky.social and I have been saying all along that Q is the red lantern in our hearts, but it was true! There was a light on all this time.

I was a Peace Corps Volunteer in Cameroon when I got much of my breaking news from the VOA, including the results of the 2004 elections. It’s hard to imagine being 23 and so far from home without it.

You made a little spot for joy and dogs on the internet and the truth is, even now, people are looking for a little joy, and a way to help, and sometimes things ripple out in ways we don’t expect, but is really fun to watch.

It’s March in Colorado, so it snowed and the sun came out and was warm then, and then the wind tried to blow us away, and then it snowed again, and now the sun is out, and I love this chaotic season, even though I have to carry all the clothes I own with me. You never know when the wind will change.

One of my co-workers got her first library card this week after I told her how much I loved the library. She took out a paper book and set Libby up on her phone!

Miles would have liked it a bit warmer.

When I first moved to AR, I saw a camo bikini in Academy Sports and I had real culture shock about it.

My ridiculous dog makes me take him out every day, or I have no peace. So when we’re out after dark, I try to remember to look up at the stars and the moon. This is not as good as actual sunlight, but it makes me feel connected to the universe and my problems seem smaller. Also, twinkle lights.

Jorts, I’m still doing some research on the judicial races. Also, still trying to decide about ranked choice voting. But my ballot drop is a ten minute walk so my dog and I will drop it off as soon as I’m done!

I feel the same (irrational?) sense of dread I had around Jan 6. Plus, I live in Aurora, CO, where there has been DISCOURSE. So, I have been gathering some extra non perishables and dog food and TP. I feel paranoid but I can always run stuff to the food bank if everything ends up fine.

I’m so excited we’re sending a trans athlete in general, and Nikki specifically. They’re so good, and even their competitors seem to love them, they seem like such a great person. And the 1500 is a great event for a new track fan! Long enough for strategy, but still only 4 minutes. So exciting!
