Young people SHOULD “have it easier” than you did. I’m sorry you got the strap up hill both ways and paid your debts with pounds of flesh, but the reason we work for progress is to make growing up and growing old gentler, easier, kinder, freer. Struggle isn’t necessary in a healthy society.

Dunkin Donuts chicken biscuit. It was not good, but nobody made it in the particular flavor of bad that DD did. That biscuit that turned to glue in your mouth and a worse glue in your stomach. The chicken patty that tightroped a delicate line between plastic and beach towel. RIP my beloved 💔

Learned about poetry today and discovered that poetry as a medium is intended to be read aloud. I took a poetry book from goodwill, flipped to a page the last owner dog-eared, and read 2 short poems aloud. I couldn't make it to the end of either without crying. New appreciation (magic?) unlocked.
