When you take the time to ask the right questions, the answers are already implied too.

Personally, I find an execptionally well executed foundation so much more attractive than a bloated version that falls apart when you look at it.

Oh yes, the shiny object syndrome is very real here, especially when it comes to building features.

Again, I'm so with you. I'm doing this too.
Not going to buy things that require me to work more, because then you're a slave to whatever you bought just now. A lot of people fall for this, it's an endless hamster wheel.

wow! So much easier to understand now, I bet you see a much smaller bounce rate with the change.

Oh nice, that sounds super useful Heidi!
I'm building a lead gen agency based on custom scrapers and my data analysis skills that I got from working in physics.
Out of curiosity: may I ask how you do lead gen for Tyype?

Thanks for sharing your system Patrice. That sounds very balanced. It's quite similar to mine, although I prefer longer work sessions to up to 2h. I experimented and found that this is my sweet spot.

Those are good points to look out for.
I do this too with sewing: when I'm super tired, I just make a quick project I could sew with my eyes closed.
When I'm more awake still, I sew more challenging garments. So I always have multiple projects on my sewing table to pick from.

That's wonderful! You're onto something here Olu.

The strawberries were delicious ;-)
I went to a near farm to pick them, mine got eaten by the slugs (again! lol).
And oh yes, meditation and fitness help so much. I don't want to miss this anymore. So glad you found this for yourself too.

ayyye, how nice to see that :)
Thank you dear build in public bot ;-)

Google authenticator uses a discovery code. I just googled about Authy app, and it seems they use different ways, like phone number or other connected devices.
Maybe you configured something and still have a chance of getting your accounts back?

I have such a high resonance with this. I gave into that temptation - hence the burnout. Luckily, when I entered self-employment, I had already learned my lesson.
And taking a break or a day off is the ultimate freedom I feel. Life is for living after all.

Oh yes, gym/working out helps me too. It's releasing the stress hormones again and getting higher energy - at least that's what it does for me.
Honestly, I had to rewire myself to be able to sit back and relax. Sauna has helped a lot with it. And sewing.

Love it Michiel! The vibe is awesome and the little animations made me smile.

Yes, that's the way I do it.
I've got a simple system now that works for me:
- every work session 2h max.
- morning exercise outside
- decompress in the evening (sewing, yoga etc)
- little breaks in between that recharge (again: sewing, DIY, eating, gardening etc)
- ruthlessly prioritizing
You?

It's such a lovely thing to do honestly. My entire wardrobe is handmade now - I love the creativity, the calmness and how well everything suits me.

I'm so with you.
It's constantly checking in with yourself - because we're not at the same energy each day (at least I'm not).

I like this metaphor a lot.
Because else it's this trap you can observe so often: things get automated without even asking if it's necessary (yet).
Having said that, at the same time it's important to build an infrastructure that is maintainable. Such a nuanced balance depending on the case.

my personal cue is when I start coding in the wrong language. Like writing java code in php or something

I'd say so too, the noise and so many people can be tiring.
Imagine you ate the the pizza and drank the coffee in a cozy chair in the middle of the woods while listening to birds singing.
I guess it would have been recharging.

Your brain and your nervous system need to know they have space to recover.
It doesn't need to be many hours: the moment I'm at my sewing table, my nervous system goes into recharge mode. Even if it's just 5 minutes.

I'm sending you good vibes Henry so that everything falls into place harmoniously.

oh no!
Quick tip: there are discovery codes if this scenario happens. I always write them down in a physical notebook - to have an air gap and backup if something goes wrong.

It depends on where you're at I'd say.
A testing environment allows you to automatically let unit and integration tests run. They make sure your code does what it's supposed to do. Having said that, it's a ton of work.
So I'd rather validate the business model first or only have very basic tests.

oh nice, what are you up to with this one?
comment in response to

Very true.
Building features is one thing, communicating them another.
And making them frictionless so that users can actually use them.

This is such a good point.
And even then: I've had AI provide sources and then I found that the sources had actually a different key point than they gave me or not at all what they told me.
If it's important, I cross check every little thing AI gives me.

I like this a lot Olu.
Next step: watch someone do it who has never seen your website before. You'll learn so much about friction (especially if that person is not tech savvy)

That's just it: if you only have surface level data, you're very likely talking to the wrong people. Or the right ones, at the wrong time.

Very glad you resonate.
When I came across the awareness levels, they have changed my entire perspective on every marketing aspect. It's such a useful lens to look at things.
