The U.S. debt is $36T+ & has been accumulating for 249 yrs. Why wld it be feasible to wipe out 1/36 of the debt (DOGE goal of $1T) in one yr.? Have economists/mathematicians spoken to this?
And won't an economic recession cause the nat'l debt to increase? 🤔

Trump's tariffs are destroying the global economy & they're going to destroy ppl's lives. Fear, anxiety, loss of security, increased debt, default, marital discord. The ripple effects are immeasurable.

That's laughable. For a DECADE Republicans have demonstrated that their ONLY interest is in supporting Trump. Is Warren JUST realizing that?
Dems aren't just a day late & a dollar short. They're a decade late & billions short.

It makes no difference in their daily lives though. That's not true for the rest of us.

NC is turning blue & Rs know it. The influx of liberals into the Triangle, Charlotte & other areas is a huge obstacle for the R party. Gerrymandering, Rs running as Ds & bogus voting rules are all on the table as they fight to keep control of a southern state that's slipping away from them.

That's been obvious for years.

There are a lot of really uninformed people in this country.
A LOT.

Ding, ding, ding we have a winner. Chris Murphy just hit the nail on the head. Republicans are done w/democracy. That is not hyperbole.
This has been obvious for at least 4 years btw. People seem to finally be waking up to it.

Missed Opportunity is their middle name. Dem messaging is & always has been terrible. I really don't think it's by mistake.

Democrats blew it. From the word go. To the extent that it seems like they wanted to lose. They pretended they wanted to win, but did they? There was so much messaging that they failed to put out there. So many things that should have been said that weren't. Including the thing you said.

Many of the jobs will be automated anyway. So the idea that American jobs will significantly increase is smoke & mirrors.

Would not be surprised if they implemented a threshold net worth requirement to vote.

That's why Rs are destroying the Dept. of Ed and education generally. Mass ignorance is their survival mechanism.

It's an army of people. The better question is why have so many Republicans who have taken an oath to protect this country decided instead to protect Trump & the Project 2025 agenda.
No one has ever answered that question. Not really. Speculation doesn't count.

I think they're as appalled & alarmed as everyone else.

Another "investigation" that will go nowhere.

BFD. The J6 hearings were all for naught.
If Ds were going to do something useful they would have done it by now. It's not like they didn't see this coming. They knew what Trump was going to do & they handed over the keys anyway, with little to no resistance.

Yup.
What are Ds doing? The same thing they always do... basically nothing (Sen. Booker's latest feat excepted).
Ds underreact to the same degree that Rs overreact. Ds miss as many opportunities to educate as Rs create to mislead. Ds disappoint their base to the same extent that Rs excite theirs.

The "long day" should be more widely publicized. What percentage of Americans know about it? I'm sure it's a very small number. Democrats should educate the public by raising awareness about this and many other things.
