Containing one of my favourite descriptions - "We must try to see each other in this way. As suffering, limited beings -- Perennially outmatched by circumstance, inadequately endowed with compensatory graces."

Why have you just put up four empty backgrounds?

From watching as a Killie fan, oddly the strict adherence to the style was a huge bonus in Scotland. When teams sit in, poorer Rangers/Celtic can just run out of ideas. AngeCeltic relentlessly went at you with that approach and it worked. The tell for Spurs is that the same approach bombed in Europe

I stuck with it while being equally confused - it shares the Agatha type issue you identified on the pod that it's somehow not about/interested in Batman... I'm a bit of a sucker for the nour thing tho....

(really enjoyable read)
I've always taken the Sorkin one as being a question you'd ask at the end of any day - so sort of making the dual point that today (series finale Big Events) is remarkable but also just another day like any other. So it goes, etc
That one always felt sort of right to me

His assumption lots of people wouldn't know Sparks was making me feel old... Quite a musical distance between that their recent stuff (which works in that setting tbf)

Bill Forsyth's great line about a film that didn't work: there was an idea there, but maybe I should just have written a poem...

In a similar vein to Pratchett adaptations not often working, so many of the jokes are thoughts, descriptions or footnotes and hard to adapt

I think it helps that he seems focused solely on that role, ie he's not got a bbc4 documentary where he's looking at polling in ancient Rome or on BBC breakfast promoting a book - quite rare in this TV landscape maybe? Slight sense of "if I must..." is quire appealing in a tv world of "me me me"

Experience wise that's great. But you know they aren't making any money and buying the vinyl only goes so far. Add the brexit red tape to that and it's killing such a vibrant thing

Frustrating irony to it that streaming has meant there's audience hunger for people to tour at the same time that it's so economically difficult for bands to do it. I've been at wonderful gigs in the last few years where, ie, young American band palpably delighted there's a sold out room in Glasgow

The palpable delight in their eyes when long running series find a way to do a musical episode...

The "skip intro" button appearing made me laugh. Anyone pressing it should have access to the episodes revoked...

Which shows all the more with local radio or when he's here in Scotland when the intervierers push just that wee bit more aggressively. Visibly bristles
