I've also typically also had a work computer on hand (whether PC or laptop) that was beefy because of the need to test the game I was working on, which I've used as my backup to play games on a PC that I've really wanted to play on a PC. Since I don't have that these days, I lack that backup.

Problem is this assumes I have a gaming rig, which I don't. :) The last time I went to buy a computer I decided that instead of a gaming laptop, I'd get a normal laptop and a SteamDeck, because of the fact I didn't really want to work & play on the same machine.
