Yeah he’s definitely an amazing performer and I’m sure he’ll do so well

Honestly where’s the fun in everything being the damn same I truly don’t know. Like I can’t say much considering my painting/3d modelling skills consist of 1-1 recreations but at least I’m doing it myself and having fun. Where’s the enjoyment of a throwaway generation that you’ll forget about pff

I’ve seen so many people just posting their way to creative heat death. Once everything is boring and homogenous perhaps they’ll finally realise why AI is 💩

Yeah I’ve thought the same! either he’s too pasty that he’s almost translucent or looks a bit shiny like wax? Lol it’s a difficult one

23) my biggest inspiration and reason for painting is to overcome my aphantasia so I can someday see something in my mind and paint things from imagination alone

22) I don’t use traditional media anymore but I really like acrylic paints/gouache and watercolour pencils

21) I use a bunch of software. For digital painting, I use Rebelle and occasionally CSP and for 3D I use Blender, 3D coat and Substance

20) I used to draw in silence but more recently I've found myself listening to classical/instrumental/game scores just because it makes me really lock into the fantasy theme. Especially if i'm making renaissance style stuff. it's just perfect.

19) I used to feel jealous as a kid, but mostly because I was never able to do things effortlessly. realising I have aphantasia and finding ways to work around that certainly changed my mindset from one of envy to one of pure joy when i see inspiring works.

18) I think I'm improving rather rapidly honestly. I started painting again in october after a long hiatus and the improvement is really insanely visible. I still have a long way to go but I definitely see the progress

17) Yes sometimes i'll just vibe and focus on drawing anatomy and do studies that never see the light of day I need to challenge myself more in ways that terrifies me.

16) Astarion is the easiest thing for me to draw. Pretty sure I could draw him in my sleep now hah

15) I think animals are hard for me. They end up looking like those renaissance paintings where the cats look vaguely demonic and humanoid.

14) I’m currently trying to improve my ability to paint without reference because I’m terrible with colour and values and depth. Maybe someday I’ll be able to.

13) I actually draw more now because I’m using reference. Drawing from mind means that I draw less because I get discouraged. But seeing what I’m working towards makes me feel so much more motivated and confident.

12) how long a piece takes depends if my hyperfixation go brrrrr some of my portraits took like 6hrs and some months. Idk how to lock in

10) not directly, but I do Love collaborating with virtual photographers on paintings they’re so creative in getting great shots so I love painting them! (If you’re a VP and want me to paint your shots please let me know)

9) I usually just do art for myself but recently people have asked me to take commissions so I have under very specific circumstances and I’m feeling a little more comfortable about it. But overall I think I just enjoy painting my muse

8) not at all confident, I’m imposter syndrome personified. Probably due to the fact I have aphantasia I don’t “see” things in my mind so I don’t feel very creative. But I’m confident that given concept art I could recreate it 1-1 in 3D

7) depends on how you define professional. For me, it’s just for fun but I guess you could say I’m a professional if I’m making money from it? Idk, I find it hard to say I’m a professional

6) least favourite thing to draw is definitely tattoos. I do not think in ink style so I abhor having to do that I would prefer to not

5) I use references almost all of the time unless I’m painting something abstract. I have aphantasia so references are crucial

4) apparently my fav thing to draw is portraits of Astarion from bg3 lol

3) I went to college and university so I took all sorts of art classes, too many to count. Everything from general illustration/ graphic novels to 3D, game dev, graphic design, traditional printmaking, sculpture, textiles and metalworking.

2) hmm I’ve been drawing ever since I was a kid but let’s realistically say about 10 so about 26 years

1) Oh this is a tough one. I prefer drawing/sketching with traditional pencil but I prefer digital painting far more because I’ve been using photoshop for 20+ years I think I’ve forgotten everything about traditional painting

A very good point. The amount of utter AI slop on Spotify led me to leave the platform. But I’m sure a lot of people don’t know or care

It’s so funny they’re like “we can always tell, that nose is too perfect, your lips too full and you have no wrinkles” thinking it’s offensive and I’m just feeding off their aggression like an energy vampire 🧛♀️
