"Why aren't people in the streets" okay here are people in the streets in my town of 7,000, checkmate babe.

I hope it's becoming obvious, but this last election showed us how mindblowingly clueless the majority of Americans are.

in the trump administration, “merit” is pronounced “white” like how strom thrumond said it.

“If you're not careful, the newspapers will have you hating the people who are being oppressed, and loving the people who are doing the oppressing.” A classic quote from Malcolm X, who was assassinated 60 years ago today.

I am so tired of waiting, Aren't you, For the world to become good And beautiful and kind? Let us take a knife And cut the world in two- And see what worms are eating At the rind — Langston Hughes Langston Hughes on the beach in Carmel-by-the-Sea with Greta, furfamily of friend Noël Sullivan

I think there’s this tendency to assume Musk enters each agency with some kind of plan. But his office is 30 people, largely children, and the federal government employs millions. He spends half his time on drugs, tweeting, doing interviews. It’s all random noise www.rollingstone.com/politics/pol...

Dark skies reflect my sadness at the firings of all the humans that help keep the #GreatLakes as healthy as possible. Tonight I mourn the loss of the 14 @usfws.bsky.social employees that kept the invasive sea lamprey at bay. My fishery will be hurt. 😢😢🌊🌊

It seems almost unavoidable at this point that we are headed for a deep, deep recession. Just based on 200K+ federal firings & pullback of contracts, the March employment report (to be released April 4) seems certain to show bigger job losses than any month ever outside of a few in 2008-9 and 2020.

Pretty accurate

@briantylercohen.bsky.social They’ve already created one.

I hope America is as lucky as the delta jet - everyone survives but the right wing explodes

This afternoon, the top FDA food official responsible for overseeing America's food safety and inspections resigned from the federal government.

The Director of ICE stated on TV yesterday that AOC is the "dumbest person in Congress." He bills himself as a cop who upholds the law, yet his statement is in itself against the law. High ranking officials cannot advocate for or against a political candidate of any party in an official capacity.

Thanks to Trump and the Senate for elevating an unqualified loudmouth—a Fox News conspiracy peddler with a reputation for drunkenness and misconduct—into this role.

That’s the problem. We’ve been standing by for too long.

Connecticut was out at The CT Capitol today.

8. Use your town square Every one of us has a town square. It may include our social media accounts, our local book club or dinner table. Use your town square to speak out in favor of democracy and against what Republicans are doing. Do not shy away from difficult conversations; seek them out.

When a judge stops the president from doing something illegal, that’s not a “threat to democracy,” that’s a check on the president’s power. That's the whole damn point.

Valentine’s Day might be behind us, but not for skunks! 🦨💖 It’s mating season for our stinkiest (and dare we say, most charming?) neighbors. Skunks are on the move searching for love. In fact, a male skunk may travel five miles in one night in the hopes he’ll find a match. 🥹⁣ #Skunks #WildlifeRehab
