PR campaign may have fuelled food study backlash, leaked document shows www.theguardian.com/environment/...

Danielle Smith is one of Pierre Poilievre's biggest fans. She also just torpedoed his election campaign. Whoopsie daisy. #cdnpoli #abpoli www.nationalobserver.com/2025/03/23/o...

bwahahaha

A friend included this anti-acknowledgement section on her PhD thesis. She also added the proposition: “Systematic bullying and undermining of girls and women in STEM starts early on and is the reason why they do not stay in science and related fields.” Absurd we still need to go through this 🧪👩‍🔬

I miss DEI

as someone who is not a fan of catholicism, but who respects liberation theology (yes), i'm kind of sad about the pope. the play-by-plays on the hourly news is a lot. 🥲

RB & I just looked at an open house & sometimes I'm like, I don't really care about the concrete countertops (though they're nice), I just want to know the person who has such a good bookcase.

Elon Musk's mother is from the City That Rhymes With Fun?! (Sign the petition.)

i think you're supposed to be invested in hockey rn?

Something something free speech

When I was 19 (so young!) kicking through South America, I found a mercado negro cassette copy of a Maná album & proceeded to listen to it on repeat on repeat on repeat. Listening to "Rayando el sol" just made me cry for nostalgia. www.rollingstone.com/music/music-...

They have no intention of giving us voting rights. Stop sane washing this nonsense, please.

the logo! be still, my heart!

I'm a lawyer, and there's one way to spell "judgement" that, in my principal's parlance, makes you look like a rube and there's another way to spell "judgment" that doesn't. Which is which? I don't know. Still. Don't tell me because I won't remember, but also, I want to know.

I don't know if you've noticed, but Google has been serving up trash search engine results (so counterproductively that I've been relying on Duck Duck Go). Also, they're fucking awful. www.theverge.com/news/608858/...

Could someone request my book of poems at @epldotca.bsky.social? If you're not in Edmonton — *also could you request my book for your local library*? #yegwriters #canlit www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-eclips...

Wikipedia is rolling out anonymity features piloted in countries with authoritarian governments in the US & is making a change to not show editor IP addresses in response to a global "increase in threats" from Elon Musk, Heritage Foundation, and governments www.404media.co/wikipedia-pr...

So far "defending women from gender ideology" (as Trump puts it) looks a lot like shutting down programs that prevent rape and domestic violence

This prejudices my bias for all-inclusive resorts.

still my favorite t-shirt

The UCP apparently ended Housing First yesterday afternoon. You know it's shameful when it's a Friday afternoon. Part of the City's 10-year plan to end homelessness, it allowed housing for those who were not yet sober (it's hard to sober up while unhoused). Now it's gone. #abpoli

Update: I watched LEE, the biopic of wartime (& fashion) photographer Lee Miller. I read the book upon which it was based last summer (one of many thematic digressions while reading The History of Art Without Men). It was great.

Someone tell me what to binge (in Canada) that isn't too demanding for a sick-headed person but also isn't total crap. I just queued up Below Deck Down Under & I'm humiliating myself & my two currently-functioning brain cells. 😱

I had to withdraw from my upcoming marathon — turns out children continue to bring home illness & my doc thinks I have walking pneumonia — but I got credits for flight, hotel, and the race entry. Pinch me. I thought this was going to be the most expensive virus I had ever had.
