I’m not attacking you. I think you actually literally got lost on your trip back through American history. Yes, it’s the same exact stuff, with adjustments for what sounds acceptable during the Overton window of the time.

Nah we’ve been similarly polarized since at least the civil war, possibly since the founding. Goldwater found a way to make it acceptable, then the HF figured out how to weaponize it. But it was always there. It just wasn’t said out loud.

Nah, the people who created the heritage foundation saw Goldwater make it as far as he did, founded their thing in 1973, then worked on their first MfL for 1980, just in time for Reagan.
