They funded the moderate side of a bunch of 2022 primaries. In a safe blue seat in NC, they stuck us with Val Foushee instead of Nida Allan, an excellent young candidate who would have been squad aligned

Ties into one of my fascinations from the campaign: Harris was “not the border czar but studying root causes of migration.” What did she find out? Why did no one ask? Why didn’t she just tell us!

And don’t even start with “but they’re not the saAaAaAaAmeeeee” I know they’re not the same, like a dead gangster and a dead cop aren’t the same but they’re both fucking dead.

I completely love Dire Straits, but I also feel like it might function better as background music than some of the other bands you’ve named, and that that could drive heavy repeat listening

I'm old enough to remember when SV libertarians wanted a government bailout because they couldn't manage the risk of having a checking account.

Idk, I’d pretty happily get rid of a few members who’s spouses work in finance so that dems can run on this as part of a anti-corruption good governance reform. Increase salaries if you need to.

Do congresshusband’s really need to be allowed to trade anything besides index funds? Maybe an allowance for their own employer stocks?

DOD contractor scammers who have years of bilking the govt for tax breaks and open ended contracts do not care about “govt waste.” Literally none of these people care about “govt waste” as some post-ideological virtue. They just want to gut social spending and fire a bunch of unionized black people

We’ve been doing meal kit delivery during a busy work period and one of the big hidden costs I’ve noticed after a few weeks is no left overs! It’s not that much more expensive than shopping for the same meal at the store, but with the kit, we eat everything that night. On our own, we’d have a lunch

I had a good policy (12 weeks that I could split) and it was still a nightmare.
I took 10 and saved 2 for when my wife went back. When I called to restart leave, they said “you used 9, you have 3 left!”
“you sure?”
“Yep!”
“Great, we’ll push childcare a week!”
“Jk, you only have 2 left. Sorry.”
