Just a few days to get your application in to be Rector of St Columba’s-by-the-Castle. Seriously, who wouldn’t want this view from in front of their church? jobs.churchtimes.co.uk/jobs/Rector-...

A fine (almost spring-like?) morning on the holy corner

Our Lucas is 18 today! So very proud of you & grateful to have shared the last 18 years with you! Have a wonderful day 🥰 @mjrushton.bsky.social

A pleasant afternoon at Canongate Kirk and Holyrood Palace celebrating the installation of the new OStJ Prior of Scotland (in our congregation and chaired the patronage committee that appointed me, therefore a very good chap). I can cross HRH the Duke of Gloucester off my royal bingo card as well!

Eek. We’ve got some of those (flying buttresses, hopefully not skeletons though…)

Breaking: Pope sends letter to US bishops decrying mass deportation and rejecting "any measure that tacitly or explicitly identifies the illegal status of some migrants with criminality." The true "ordo amoris," he says, is the ethos of the Good Samaritan. www.vatican.va/content/fran...

Ok. This is utterly batsh*t but I kinda like it. I think. <shudder>

I can think of a few stronger words than ‘sub-optimal’, but I am very glad it is happening!

Here’s a great job in a fascinating context. If this interests you, please do consider applying by this Saturday.

I really love how unhinged classical artists were. (This is about Richard Wagner, composer of the Ring cycle)

O Lord, support us all the day long, until the shadows lengthen…

Remembering our dear friend, Dean Robert Willis, today. His words & wisdom shining through our service this morning & thinking of all those gathering in Salisbury later today in thanksgiving for such a remarkable life & ministry. May he rest in peace & rise in glory.

We caught a wild haggis for Burns Night, but have decided not to eat it after all.

Well, it looks like we came through Storm Eowyn relatively unscathed. Hope everyone out there is ok too.

“the service was a very boring and uninspiring one”. You can disagree with the content of the sermon all you like, but don’t you DARE go after Anglican/Episcopal liturgy!

Dog-walking rush hour

Things may seem overwhelming at the moment, but we’re here, praying and serving and offering a welcome to all, alongside our ecumenical partners in this place. This is Christ’s world, not any president’s.

Great to see our local record shop @thornerecords.bsky.social in this list! www.ft.com/content/e1dc...

I find the fact that Simon Rattle, Edgar Allan Poe and Dolly Parton all have the same birthday oddly comforting.

Glorious colours this morning (although as usual the phone camera doesn’t really do it justice!)

Happy place…
