Once again loving this interpretation of Caesar’s last words #IdesofMarch 🗡️

Pääministerin virka-asunnon ympärillä on mittava kokoelma lapasia. Kuvassa vain otanta. #lapanen #kesäranta

A study in Nature Food assesses the future climatic suitability of global croplands for 30 major food crop types, quantifying the changes in potential food crop diversity given climate conditions across four global warming levels. https://go.nature.com/3Dp5LEk #foodstudies 🧪

⛓️Vuonna 2021 olin tutkimusprojektissa, jossa piti käydä läpi suomalaisia lehtiä Toisen maailmansodan ajalta. Aika kaivaa joitain kuvakaappauksia esiin, osoittaakseen miten historia näyttää taas toistuvan 1/25

Conceptual hydrology models in the style of the Tube map? Going through some old files from a few years ago and found this idea I was toying with. Not sure it is entirely accurate.

Ever wonder what snow in the swamp would look like? This is 5 miles into the Louisiana swamps in the Atchafalaya basin... it's unreal... having lived down there for the first 28 years of my life, we never saw anything like this. Smashed records. Curtesy of Garrett Roberts.

I made this #map of Mt Rainier back in 2018 as part of a series showcasing the volcanos of the high Cascades. Started with Hood and did most of the big ones, but Rainier came out best. I manually pulled out forested areas used highest hit lidar data. It was a slog, but it got the detail I wanted.

Just a regular reminder: the ArcticDEM is one of the most beautiful spatial datasets out there. I've been working on a large tile set for our #arctic abrupt thaw mapping activities recently and I can't help but stop and take a peek as the data rolls in.

I made this giant 3x6-foot map of the #GreatSmokyMountains to hang up in our house. Worked on it in the background over a the course of a couple of years. The last touch was dialing in the hypsometric tinting, which I think finally pulled it all together. #smokies #nationalpark #map #cartography

Modeling Antarctic sea ice at 3 km resolution. Now displayed in a conventional colormap :) #SciArt 🐡 🧪 🌊 #FESOM2

Day 18 #30DayMapChallenge I 3D-printed John Snow's 1854 cholera map of Soho. It took ages.

Beginning a new life here on blue sky, so perhaps I should start posting. Among other things, I am currently very interested in strip maps. This maps my longest bike ride to date. #30DayMapChallenge Day 5 journey / Day 12 new tool. This is made with a new tool I'm developing, more on which soon.

#30DayMapChallenge Day 5: A Journey Taking inspiration from medieval Pilgrims' itinerary maps, I've been experimenting with 'straightening out' the map under a GPS track. Details of the process here: observablehq.com/@jwolondon/t... This journey was a long 36km walk from Ambleside to Keswick.
