I wouldn’t worry about it if your still working on completing the novel. A lot of stuff happens in the revision process so it might be shortened other chapters may be lengthened. The important thing is just keep writing and finish it. Good luck!

Neat concept! I too use writing prompts for ideas & in my writing routine. I happen to put a collection of my own - divided into words/phrases, what if scenarios and dialogue fragments and put them in a book and it’s coming out May 9th. You may or may not be interested, but like your idea.

To clarify the summary has been revised 150 times since I started querying Oct. 2023. After another pass thru, it’s solid!!! Confident it’ll go well with the agents/editors I’ll be pitching.

Good luck! Doing the same only I’m going to the Las Vegas Writers Conference in a few days to learn, market my non-fiction book for writers, & pitch to agents my horror novel, BURIED SECRETS ON DARBYTOWN ROAD. Waiting forever to hear back on a full that’s still out motivates me to pitch. 🤞🏼

Ooh. Intriguing. Good luck. I’m in the querying trenches too. Over a year and it’s draining. Keep at it when you find the process grueling.

This was a great presentation. Still thinking about some of the points about how often those who are disabled are seen as sidekicks or villains or need to be fixed. Definitely needs to be changed.

I’m attending! Saw your post on FB. Looking forward to meeting you. I’m an MWA gal with lots of Eastern Shore friends and three who are speakers this year!

I tend to write flash fiction, short stories and novels. I can tell what type of story if the premise is simple, it’ll be a flash story. If the MC has a full character arch but not many characters, then it’ll be a short story. Lots of characters with lots of tension and high stakes, a novel.

Like the name of your writing group. I’m apart of a few in Maryland and one meets at a brewery called Cult Classic so that group is named “Cult Writer’s Circle”. The rest are chapters of the Maryland Writers Association- no cool names, but great groups. ☺️

Third person except the welcome portion at the top of my website with my profile photo. For example, I want those who need access to my bio for promotions, they can do so right from the page.

Mostly real towns. My complete (and edited) horror novel takes place on a real road in #Maryland but changed the name out of fear of people who some of the characters are based on would be harassed or end up like Burketsville, MD after Blair Witch Project.
