Not sure why we're protecting the "specific person" who signed. They are at the top of this org chart, incl their office phone no & actual email. It might be fitting if they got 402 emails saying: got this email. Looks bogus, but they signed your name. nsf-gov-resources.nsf.gov/files/liaiso...

🧪 Tip: You have the right to contest a grant termination, even though NSF says you don't. 🧵 On Friday, NSF terminated 402 grants (per Musk's DOGE). The notification letters had one of the most egregious violations of fed regulations I've seen so far in these cases: "not subject to appeal"

Don't know why the April 8 NSF news just dropped in my mailbox. Because we all know that "what's hot in science and engineering" right now is rolling over for DOGE and canceling all of our grants.

I got nerd sniped by Richard Stanley this week. He answered a MathOverflow question about undecidable problems by suggesting that "people in the area believe" that it's undecidable whether or not a given polyomino, you can use it to tile a rectangle, as in the below picture.
