The thing Ambassador Spock understands is: he cannot control if they’re going to kill him—& they probably ARE going to kill him. He can only control what HE does. Columbia’s problem is they still think they can escape Trump’s retaliatory funding cuts. They probably can’t, in any short-term sense.

Media challenge: try writing headlines without using the word "antisemitism". Stop using Trump's framing for his authoritarian actions. "Trump administration now monitoring immigrant social media" would be shorter and more accurate, since no-one really believes this is about anti-semitism.

A big lesson I hope folks can learn quickly is the difference between reclaiming an oppressive phase and accepting an oppressor’s ideology. “We’re here, we’re queer, get used to it” reclaims a slur by trading shame for pride. “Lock him up” accepts a fascistic frame of cruelty and expands it.
