The Caring University is now available for pre-order! It's about structural and cultural change to improve the higher ed workplace. See the ToC ⬇️ I'd be grateful if you would consider reposting to your networks to spread the word. tinyurl.com/6kk9fryt

When we unionized a few years ago, a lot of peanut gallery types on social media wanted to tell me it would be the end of Wired. Hope it’s now clear (thanks mostly to our insanely talented and hardworking politics team) that it does not work that way. Unions are good.

Educators using AI need to consider the political implications of participating in the future imagined by the tech bros who are taking over our government.

This is something we do well here with our Northeast Neighbors program: www.ric.edu/admissions-f... (an expansion of a prior program that offered discounted tuition for those within 50 miles but beyond state boarders).

Sharing this from my sister... First, they came for the undocumented immigrants and people of color, and they did not speak out—because they were not undocumented immigrants or people of color. Then they came for the LGBTQI+ community, and they did not speak out—because they were not LGBTQI+.1/4

This is a scary time to be queer, but being queer also brings the security of knowing that every time they've tried to extinguish us, we've fought back and changed the world.
