We had a first-hand experience with information manipulation. A fake article referring to the outage, including a fake statement by the President, was wrongly attributed to a major outlet. We saw how far information manipulation can go and the negative impact it can have.

In 100 days in office, US President Donald Trump has destabilized eight decades of government support for science. This has included terminating more than 1,000 grants in areas such as climate change, cancer, and HIV prevention. Will US science survive Trump 2.0? www.nature.com/articles/d41...

Just your regular reminder of where global CO2 emissions are tracking compared to scenarios that keep warming to below 1.5C in 2100, with "no or low overshoot" (maximum temperature around 1.6C). journals.sagepub.com/doi/full/10.... C1/

There won't be any central bank interest rate policy that will make food out of flooded or burnt soil.

I like to see things like this. What Mosler/Kelton/Wray/Mitchell and others did for me, I am delighted to have been able to do for a few others. Bring a friend along in London in June and maybe we can spread the word a bit further. The UK needs it. modernmoneylab.org.uk/events/

51 years ago, a military coup threw out the fascist government in Portugal and handed over the power immediately to the civil society. Ever since 25th April 1974 we have freedom and a few months later a full democracy. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carnati...

There's a lot of work to be done by the MMT firewall crowd :)

The real costs of climate-related damages by fossil fuel companies may be impossible to calculate, but the picture is getting clearer: According to new study, Chevron alone caused between US $791 billion and $3.6 trillion in heat-related losses over the period 1991–2020.

The Danish krone is now available in T2 settlement system and TIPS instant payments, making Danmarks Nationalbank the first non-euro area central bank to fully onboard TARGET Services, all of which are now multi-currency www.ecb.europa.eu/press/pr/dat...

Rachel Reeves thinks the appropriate response to a negative shock from Donald Trump is to double down on austerity. Oh, dear. We'll be looking at economics and the economy in a very different way June 21/22 or 28/29 in London. Do join us. modernmoneylab.org.uk/events/

Shortages and sellers’ inflation all over again but this time engineered by tariff shock therapy.

Climate TRACE shows you where and when greenhouse gas emissions are occurring.

Unspeakable evil. "Twenty-four hours before she was killed, it was announced that a documentary focusing on Hassouna’s life in Gaza since the Israeli offensive began would be debuted at a French independent film festival that runs parallel to Cannes." www.theguardian.com/world/2025/a...

Stumbled upon this video, not really looking for this in particular but is very close to being spot on. Portugal opened up the doors wide open to foreign capital and foreign low-skilled labour supply. A disaster. www.youtube.com/watch?v=ca3R...

The budgetary constraints of the #Eurozone are a political choice, not an economic necessity. In this article, I bring together Cornelius Castoriadis, Barbara Stiegler and Quinn Slobodian to dispel this illusion, which considerably reduces the scope for politics. mmt-france.org/2025/04/19/t...

Thanks to Patricia and Christian for having me on yet again, and thanks for promoting our interactive, connection-forming, (contributing to) paradigm-shifting (along Stephanie Kelton lines) #MMT #ecologicaleconomics weekends in London in June. See you then! pileusmmt.libsyn.com/196-the-prob...

Fascinating account of how an artificial intelligence beta version was coaxed into helping with writing a climate skeptic paper - but the current version sees right through all the flaws of it and says its beta version was misused. It's quite impressive. #AI livingearth.substack.com/p/grok-vs-gr...

"Samsung Receives Government Approval To Increase The Work Hours To 64 Per Week For Its R&D and Semiconductor Divisions To Boost Competitiveness Against Rivals." There's a reason why Leftists (socialists and communists) refer to SK as "the republic of samsung", lol. This is one of the reasons why.
