I tried the idea: github.com/mnapoli/boxie lots of things left to do, but the POC works 🤷 Worth pushing the idea further?

Why don't we have a universal package manager based on containers? e.g. `xxx install php` creates a `php` script (in $PATH), and running `php` would run docker run -it --rm -v ... php:cli $@" (auto-mounts the current dir, sane defaults…) Is there a reason this hasn't happened?

I have big plans

PHP UK starting up!

AI feels like a cheat code sometimes. This would have taken me a few hours to implement. Implemented in a minute instead.

I planned to launch bref.cloud in february, but Laravel Cloud is launching next week. I'll wait till march 😅 Also watching the Laravel Cloud demo at Laracon was inspiring! I'm not playing in the same universe, but it motivated me to spend time sweating out the details. For example with "Metrics" 👇

Had a custom-made Bref mouse pad because why not 😂

Laracon EU let’s goo!

I am lost: is Laravel Cashier useful for simple subscriptions now that there's the Stripe customer portal? It seems like a button to open the Stripe portal does 99% of the job. Then a webhook to receive subscription statuses. (my use case is very simple) What am I missing?

Thank you to runs-on.com for sponsoring Bref 💙

I slept on Cursor. GitHub Copilot was a drastic improvement, but Cursor takes it so much further… Using it frequently now since December. Pairing with PhpStorm for writing/reviewing code works better than I thought, that way I don't have to leave PhpStorm.

I'll be speaking about PHP serverless: "how it actually works" at Dutch PHP Conference in March, see you there! phpconference.nl/session/php...

New Bref swag just in time for Laracon EU, PHP UK and Dutch PHP Conference!

Another piece of the future Bref Cloud landing Unlike most SaaS, there's no "Meet the team", that's just me. I'm trying to turn that into an advantage and a good differentiator. What is your reaction if you read this on a SaaS? Any advice?

I did a 180 over my previous Bref Cloud landing page design The feedback I got was mixed, ppl were not sure "why" Bref Cloud exists Here's the new version (the rest of the landing page will show the features) Thanks so much for the early feedback ❤️ If you have more please share

Completely rewrote the bref.cloud onboarding in preparation for the launch. 1st screenshot is the before. The rest is the new design. I wanted it to be much easier to follow, more guided. Also helps completely new users to create their first AWS account.

I'm trying something new: remove `public` and `: void` from test methods. This goes against standards, but in test methods these keywords bring no value. Let's see if it sticks.

Added GitHub login on Bref Cloud It was a low-hanging fruit from the roadmap (roadmap.bref.cloud). I'm procrastinating on the launch though. TODO: - pricing (mostly done) - landing page - rework the onboarding - billing

Finally added a feedback button and open roadmap to bref.cloud The roadmap is visible in the app as well as at roadmap.bref.cloud/ Kudos to upvoty.com for the product, very easy to set up and exactly what I needed ❤️

Working on the bref.cloud landing page what do we think of the second illustration: yay or meh? Can't decide if I should go in a completely different direction

Submitted a new talk to a conference: "PHP and async: what are we missing out on?" spoiler: I don't think it's a lot, except for specific use cases and then it gets interesting

Added secrets management to bref.cloud 🖌️ Uses AWS SSM parameter store behind the scenes, so secrets are securely stored in your AWS account And finally working on a landing page that shows off all the features, it's time to open this up to more people

Thank you @werner.social for the great shout out to the AWS Heroes ❤️ This is the smartest, friendliest, and simply *best* group of people I've ever been part of, and I am forever grateful for AWS' sponsorship 🙏
