I'm not sure that's true. Consumers don't want a flood of disconnected, average AI products like Microsoft keeps releasing. But my parents and grandparents love AI, especially ChatGPT and Perplexity. They’d love a more integrated experience, maybe AIO, which no one is really offering yet.

This auto-detection and cropping feature already exists in Android for more than two years. It can even detect text in the screenshot and extract it to Clipboard

comment in response to post

comment in response to post

Only reason for me to consider Switch 2 is Zelda games. Although we can emulate them for Steam Deck, the experience is clunky and against the terms and services of Nintendo. Having said that, I'm also sticking with my Stream Deck for now.

This decision was made under the current leadership though

Yeah, you are right. I mistakenly remembered it was Open Source. Anyways, it is unfortunate we can't use it. Currently there is no good alternative for a modern C# LSP.
comment in response to post
It is Open Source, but the license petmits to use it only in VSCode. Unfortunately this is also an issue with nvim. Omnisharp is not great.
comment in response to post
Important note- unfortunately, this is not compliant with the C# Dev Kit LSP licensing, and technically illegal

Yesterday's weather was amazing! So many people were swimming at Green lake.

Have you tried to generate a Python/JS script? PowerShell isn't used as much, neither C#/.NET and models usually able to generate better Python/JS code

Huh, Markdown support could be really nice

Are you using a traditional recipe? If you’re happy to share it, I’d really enjoy trying it out and bake some for my family :)

Most of C#'s most popular features are Syntactic Sugar. Records, Pattern Matching, Properties, Elvis Operator, Collection Expressions, Extension Methods, Collection Initializers, Indices and Ranges, String interpolation, a lot more. That's why they can innovate in a rapid pace. No Runtime changes.

I agree. They always fulfill new scripts pretty fast. They are also very friendly and have cheap prices. Never had an issue with them.

The issue with Alto is that you can't decide upon the delivery time. More often than not they just surprise you or give you a big time window which limits your ability to leave the house or sometimes have meetings.

What if I don't use Word? I hope they won't force the preload without providing a way to disable it

Yeah. Maybe he means something else, but being “AI First” could mean making your content, products, and docs more accessible to AI agents. With more people using tools like ChatGPT for search and help, not just dev, optimizing for AI could boost your business and get you more traction/sales/visits.

Disable Copilot, AI is horrible for beginners.

Well, the biggest Israeli News outlet have picked up your tweet and launched a report on how a "Senior Microsoft Leadership" confessed they can't use Windows and prefer Mac. www.ynet.co.il/digital/tech... Btw, there are Windows Tiling managers for Windows too.

Sorry to hear that, Kirill. Your physical and mental health come first! No job is worth sacrificing them. I’ve been there too. Finding a good and supportive manager that knows my worth transformed my frustration and helped me enjoy the corporate grind more than I thought possible

What about Avalonia? It isn't by Microsoft but it is mature and heavily supported. WPF is still around as well.

Where I come from, there’s no cafeteria or free lunch. Kiosks bid for spots—higher rent offered to a school means better chances for a kiosk to get a spot in that school. Who pays in the end? Students and parents. Only 1–2 kiosks, same high prices, oily fast food. I'm 100% pro free school lunch.

I think Microsoft has a policy about revoking access to everything upon notification if the new gig is a direct competitor (Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc...). I had a friend that the same happened to them when they moved to Google. Everything was revoked immediately.

Yup, Spectre.Console is awesome. I use it behind the scenes to implement "Dumpify", which is very convenient for CLI apps. It lets you "Dump" any .NET object in a structured and colorful way. Similar to LinqPad's Dump method github.com/MoaidHathot/...

I've written many in C#. Which benefits Go and Rust has over C# in these type of scenarios?
comment in response to post
Why is it "most people"? The post says they used Go for 2 main reasons: 1. Easy to port from TS => New code looks and behaves like old code. 2. Max performance for that specific scenario and eliminating JIT. AOT in .NET is very young. Doesn't mean Go is always better than .NET in every CLI scenario

I don't see how this sends that message.

At this point most technical people I work with uses Markdown. Teams has an awful support for Markdown files but VsCode and Neovim has great support for them. AzDO also has a great Wiki with good Markdown support.
