Thought both full backs Kamason & Amass were good for United, both really strong runners. Maybe if Amorim stays they can break through as wing backs in that system. Bit of a shame Arsenal didn’t have Zecevic-John to test them more 1v1 defensively

Really impressive performance from Arsenal U18s given the context. That Man Utd side was entirely made up of 2006 / 2007 year group players. Only 3 of Arsenal’s starting XI were that same age bracket Dowman the star obviously but Salmon & Porter both excellent to keep it close

Crazy thing to say about a 15yo, but Max Dowman genuinely looks miles above this level (on the ball). Brilliant pass by Sweet for the goal, great run and finish by Copley too. Marli Salmon has been very good considering he’s a 15yo up against attackers 3 years older as well

Much sharper than the weekend at least, but still pretty toothless. The positions Calafiori takes up are outstanding, just needs to learn how to defend out wide. If/when he masters that he’ll be a big asset.

Would happily take a draw tonight. Really tough place to go with no confidence, just maintain the gap to 3rd and move on.

Think Baleba might be even better than Caicedo was at Brighton. No doubt he’d cost crazy money but feel like he’d suit Liverpool perfectly

Doku is still only 22. Feel like at some point in his career there’s a decent chance he’ll put it all together and become unstoppable for a few seasons

Thought Kudus was really good yesterday, he’s so strong and good technically that West Ham can use him as an outlet anywhere across the pitch to relieve pressure. Still feel like he’d be an ideal signing for us if money was no object

I’d already given up on the title so the frustration today isn’t about that for me. Just a really poor performance all across the team and we got what we deserved. It’s not easy but Arteta needs to find solutions with this group of players for the next month or so

Odegaard is making so many bad decisions at the moment, same as the first half last week. These games are hard enough without so many attackers, but for our key creative player & captain to be in such bad form too has killed us.

Morgan Rogers is a top player btw, not sure there’s anyone in the PL better at driving through the midfield.

This is unbelievable from Club Brugge

Rafael Leao is such a frustrating player to watch, at 25 you wonder if he’ll ever make the most of his talent. Makes so many bad decisions on and off the ball. Same could be said for Joao Felix as well

Wirtz is too good

Nice for Mikel Merino to get that moment today, been a difficult first season for him. We’re going to need him in the run in so hope that’s the start of something. For all the valid criticism though, he’s always been a threat when he’s on the pitch.

A few incredibly disappointing performances from senior players so far today - lazy execution on the ball and a lack of purpose. Our captain especially needs to step up Contrast that with Nwaneri who’s been our only danger, everything he does is sharp and decisive

A lot of talk about Nwaneri as a 9 but for me it has to be Sterling left, Ethan right and Trossard false 9 today. Tough part is what we do after 70 mins if the game isn’t won - we know Sterling & Nwaneri aren’t 90 minute players right now

Fair enough, it’s Liverpool’s year. All the little things that need to go your way to win the title have gone in their favour this season, along with one of the best individual seasons we’ve ever seen from Salah. Big summer ahead for Arsenal to go again next season.

Another game Michael Oliver is failing to control

This Dembele season is insane. Finally found the sort of form/consistency to match his talent

Assuming Leicester go down this season, I wonder how much El Khannouss would go for? So silky on the ball but still works hard, could cover a few positions for us. One of my favourite new players to watch this season

Damage was done in the 1st leg when we lost a game which we should have won comfortably. Chasing the game was always going to suit Newcastle & their tactics were spot on tonight, so fair enough. Hope they lose to Liverpool in the final & their wait for a trophy continues though

Hope the Martinelli injury isn’t serious obviously but we needed to take him off at half time anyway - so bad at taking on his man from the right. Nwaneri a much better dribbler & bigger threat.

First goal was always going to be vital, needed Odegaard to score that chance to have any hope. Saliba can’t cope with Isak. Newcastle are making the game as ugly as possible, but we’re falling into their trap.

Feels like a big ask to overturn a 2 goal deficit away from home, so I’m just hoping for a good performance & no injuries to head into the mini break. Score the first goal and the nerves might kick in

Ultimately if Arsenal manage to bring in Sesko, Williams/Semenyo and Zubimendi in the summer they’ll probably consider that to be worth the wait. Just feels like that wait for the 1st choice targets has probably come at the expense of winning something this season.

I say this a lot, but if you think we haven’t made the most of recent transfer windows in the first team just wait til you see what the Academy is doing… So many players stuck playing U21s football for another 6 months when they should be playing senior football elsewhere

It’s a failure to not bring in an attacker. If we couldn’t bring a summer target forward then we should have done something temporary to cover a worst case scenario. Tel, Ferguson, Rashford, Asensio, Kolo Muani all got loan moves so there were options in the market.

Hoping for a late surprise but it feels like Tel on loan or nothing right now

Bernardo Silva is a quality player who’s had a top career but he’s an embarrassment whenever he loses btw. A few snide little kicks off the ball late on today. Not sure he even got a yellow which says it all about refs in this country.

GET INNNN That last 30 minutes was beautiful, so so happy we get our moment against this City team. Doesn’t make up for losing out on the last few titles to them, but we deserved to get a little revenge.

What Lamine Yamal is doing at 17 is insane

Calafiori vs MLS and Nwaneri vs Martinelli are the two big calls for Arteta today. Nwaneri is the better option at RW for our attack & would be my choice but could understand if Martinelli is picked to stop the threat of Gvardiol. MLS/Calafiori is a flip of a coin really

I thought Andre Harriman-Annous was the stand out player for Arsenal U18s tonight. I really like his profile, has the athleticism & intelligence to do everything well. Macaulay Zepa looked really good for Fulham though, definitely one to watch. Hope the injury isn’t too bad

We need to save Mikey Moore from that club, top talent

I like Tel and we’re all desperate for attacking signings but honestly but I wouldn’t go anywhere near £50m for him. At that point just give Nico Williams what he wants and pay the release clause instead

Nwaneri generates so much power even when he’s not fully set. Six goals in 640 mins this season is unbelievable

Nightmare side of the draw

Feel a bit sorry for Sterling. He actually did well tonight, he’s always looked better on the left in his career… but all fans will focus on is that penalty miss now. I know it seemed to work with Havertz last season but I don’t love the pity penalty idea
