I decided to drive to a doctor’s appointment at Northwestern today bc it’s a little too cold to bike and I didn’t have time for transit. It took me 13 entire minutes to park and get out of the garage! I should’ve just put on a few more layers and ridden.

It's so disappointing to have aldermen vote against this based on "equity concerns." Poor and POC Chicagoans get injured and killed by drivers at disproportionately high rates, and this measure would have saved many of their lives.

Drivers are so funny. This morning while I was biking my kid to school, a driver fully accelerated through a stop sign as I was turning through the intersection, I yelled to get his attention, and then HE got mad at ME.

Yesterday, my 4yo was asking questions about a sign we have hanging in our garage that says "More Neighbors, More Bikes, More Fun." As I tried to explain urbanism to a 4yo, he listened and then said, "Ohhh so if everyone had a garage, then people wouldn't park on the street and we could play there!"
