"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it's the only thing that ever has." -- Margaret Mead, who died #OTD 1978

Welcome to Blue Sky.

Sums up the current state of the US politics

Feels like I'm just posting to the void since I'm just getting started here, but why not. I write a weekly newsletter, and this week I write about how far away from reading and critical thinking we’ve come. It's lacking in our education, COVID learning loss, social media attention spans, all of it.

My beautiful girl is 13 years old today. She’s had a tough year: she survived a snake bite and surgery, lost her best buddy Kiba, and learned to be friends with new buddy Syra. I hate how we’re on the precipice of danger but we still have to do chores. The dishes don’t do themselves because I’m full of existential dread. The dog doesn’t understand the descent into fascism and still demands walks.

Be sure to do something nice for yourself this weekend instead of doom scrolling. Read a good book. Play board games with a loved one. Scream into a cave. Sort your doomsday seeds by season. Whisper the names of your enemies into the wicked ear of Crzthlach, the First God. Make a sourdough starter.

You’re not alone. Half of America chose hope. Hold onto it.
