I went to my Congressman's local office today. First off, they were surprised that I was there. They said they had been getting phone calls, but I was the first walk-in. That said, the phones were not ringing off the hook. If the DC phone lines are busy, try calling the local office.

So the DNS record for www.usaid.gov has been removed. However, usaid.gov still works and redirects to www.usaid.gov. If you modify your hosts file to point www.usaid.gov to 12.96.42.215 you will find that the site still works. Someone removed one DNS record but forgot about another.
