Toorak’s beauty isn’t just in its beautiful tree-lined streets, heritage homes, and historic shopping strip— it’s in its people. They’re what makes living in our community so special.

The government promised to make gas giants pay their share. Instead, we're missing out on billions in tax income. We have to stop giving our futures away for free, and damaging our country and climate in the process.

Gambling has become increasingly normalised among young Australians. That’s not okay. Nearly one in three Australians aged 12-17 have gambled. By age 18, almost half have. Gambling companies accept more than $18.4 million a year in illegal bets from underage Australians.

It was an absolute privilege to attend the declaration of the polls this morning and officially be re-elected as the Member for Kooyong.

Labor promised to end the climate wars. With its decision today to approve Australia’s largest gas project, we see that its promises are worth nothing.

In the last parliament, environmental protections went backwards. The Albanese government abandoned its own legislation to establish an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and weakened regulations around salmon farming—despite promising that the climate wars would end under its leadership.

Today is National Sorry Day, which marks the start of Reconciliation Week. It’s a time to remember the harm caused to the Stolen Generations, one of the darkest chapters in Australia’s history.

Hey @JacintaAllanMP - let’s follow the NSW govt’s lead and look for innovative new ways to fund the rapid rollout of accessible kerbside rapid chargers powered by renewable energy. We need to help renters and apartment-dwellers transition to EVs.

This week I wrote to the Treasurer and PM, urging them to reconsider their proposed changes to tax settings on superannuation balances over $3m. Here’s why:

Last year, Japan resold at least $11bn worth of Australian gas. Japan onsells more Australian gas than eastern Australia uses, and more than our forecast domestic gas shortages. We don’t need new gas projects. We just need to use our own gas better. (Source: IEEFA)

You can’t lie when you sell someone a chicken, but it’s entirely legal to lie in political advertising in Australia. The deliberate spread of misinformation by parties and other groups was a prominent feature of the recent election. We have to fix this problem in the 48th Parliament.

Today on International Day Against Homophobia, Biphobia, Interphobia, and Transphobia, we stand with the LGBTQIA+ community to fight discrimination and celebrate love, identity, and equality. Everyone deserves safety and respect 🏳️‍🌈

The federal opposition remains horribly divided about the country’s need for climate action and a coherent energy policy. The crossbench will be the parliamentary force holding the government to account on climate and environment in this term

Just received this from a nephew: It’s us, and him mum, under an umbrella. We’re not all mums, but we've all had a mum. Days like today are a reminder of the importance of family - whatever it looks like - and of the great good fortune of having people who we love and who love us back.

Today, on National Domestic Violence Remembrance Day, we acknowledge the trauma and grief of those affected by family violence. We commit to ongoing and meaningful reform to honor those lost to domestic violence, and to protect those still at risk.

The election result in Kooyong is too close to call at this point. It will take some days - possibly some weeks - for the outcome to be confirmed. Thank you Kooyong, for your support. Thanks to my team, and my family. Thanks to all of the Kooyong volunteers for your extraordinary hard work.

Peter Dutton says he’ll fight ‘indoctrination’ in our schools, but won’t say what curriculum changes he favours. He’s had three years to come up with education policies.

Antisemitism has no place in our country. I’m appalled at the Neo-Nazi disruption at Kew pre-poll today.

It was surprising and disappointing that the Liberal candidate for Kooyong failed to turn up to the local Friends of the ABC event this week. It’s increasingly clear that the Liberal Party has less and less interest in a strong, independent media.

Bridget McKenzie on Insiders blaming Kooyong EV drivers for our deteriorating roads, demonstrating her usual inability to grasp policy detail.

Many Australians can’t afford to go to the dentist. Missing out on preventative dental care increases the risk of more serious issues and of health problems in older age. We have to sort out the cavity in our healthcare system.

It’s always a great privilege to attend Dawn Services marking the courage and sacrifice of those who have fought to protect our country. Lest We Forget.

Pope Francis led the Catholic Church with humility and generosity. He cared for the environment, the poor, for peace, and for inclusion. We’re thankful for his life of sacrifice and grateful for his leadership and vision.

Only Independents with the balance of power in a minority government will deliver the ban on gambling advertising that an overwhelming majority of Australians want. The major parties lack the courage to do it.

In 2022, the Coalition lost an election in which climate change was the biggest issue. In 2025, they do not have a single policy which would decrease our emissions in the next 10 years.

Happy Easter, everyone! 🐣 Wishing you a day filled with peace and joy, surrounded by those you love most.

Thank you to the Rev. Nicholas Georgiou and the congregation of the Greek Orthodox Parish of the Presentation of Our Lady to the Temple, in North Balwyn, for the privilege of participating in their beautiful Epitaphios procession on Good Friday.

There's no place in Australian electoral campaigns for violence and aggression. In many instances the language used against female candidates is gendered and misogynistic. The video circulating this week of a man violently destroying political signage in Kooyong is deeply concerning.

And that’s a wrap on week 3 of the campaign trail. Happy Easter long weekend to all! 🐰
