Gambling advertisements should be banned — and the Albanese government knows it. The answers are in its own report - the Murphy Review- which it has ignored for almost two years.
We have to ban all forms of online gambling advertising.

Once again, thank you, Kooyong, for placing your trust in me. I look forward to representing your voice in Canberra in the 48th Parliament.

A massive thank you to the AEC staff for their ongoing dedication and patience during the count for Kooyong. It was a long process, and my team and I are incredibly grateful for your hard work.

This decision locks in massive carbon emissions until at least 2070, undermining our climate targets.
It’s a betrayal of our young people and our future generations.

This is a defining moment for our country. With a supermajority — with the Libs and Nats in utter disarray — will the PM finally find the courage to draw a line in the sand on climate action?

The proposed expansion of the North West Shelf project, one of the world’s largest LNG developments, would unlock massive carbon emissions that could continue well beyond 2070.

The Libs, Nats and Greens are happy to chip away at super, but for most people super is their second biggest asset - after their home, if they’re lucky enough to own one. We have to protect super, not see it as a way to increase tax income by stealth.

It also risks reducing investment in start-ups at a time when Australia needs innovation and productivity growth more than ever.

Taxing unrealised gains sets a dangerous precedent for the broader tax system and creates significant challenges for self-managed super funds invested in businesses, farms, and shares.

Although the changes would currently affect only a small percentage of Australians, the lack of indexation means that many young Australians will be impacted in the future.

I’ve had many conversations with the Kooyong community about this issue. While most people — even those directly affected — support increasing tax rates on super balances over $3m, there’s virtually universal condemnation of the proposal to tax unrealised gains.

We need real, long-term, evidence-based tax reform accepted and supported by all sectors of our community.

We need to stop tinkering around the edges with the sort of changes proposed for super.

The Australian government must urgently address intergenerational inequity through meaningful tax reform which lessens the burden on young wage earners.

And thanks to the AEC workers who are still dealing with a whole lot of ballots.

Only a small proportion of the fuel excise goes to fixing roads. That amount will be even less if Peter Dutton’s fuel excise cut goes through.
But Bridget McKenzie never lets the truth get in the way of a good old bit of class warfare. It’s the Coalition’s new fallback strategy.

It’s also easier to house an EV in the outer suburbs, where rooftop solar uptake is higher and more people have off-street parking.

More EVs are bought in outer suburbs; petrol’s expensive, and people in outer suburbs drive further. They love the savings they get from a free fill-up off their rooftop solar.

With calendars aligning this year, Orthodox and Western churches are celebrating Easter on the same weekend. It’s a rare chance to celebrate together two of the most important religious holidays of the year.

I’m aware that similar incidents have also affected my opponent, and I unequivocally condemn this behaviour.
I’m hoping that in the 2 weeks before the election we can focus on the important issues which matter to our communities.
