I'm the same and I get that trans people in particular can have a torrid time online and are extremely sensitive as a result, but the lists I've been added to are frankly disgusting in their framing, unwarranted and viewable by all. Anyway, I'll have to create a new account, take care!

I'm not sure that's accurate on here (although I've not dug in to the algorithm). Fair point on feeds/lists though. Anyway, my main issue is that advertising block lists with suspect criteria amounts to mob behaviour and a form of bullying.

So yes the ban is bad, but the argument that if it's ok for one group then it's definitely ok for the other is reductive and not helpful. A quick search shows it's absolutely not without risks for any group, both physically and psychologically.

One delays until the natural age, the other delays beyond the natural age. The question should be, on balance, do the harms caused by a ban out weigh the harms of prescribing, there isn't a clear cut answer and it should be on a case by case basis, decided by specialists, with informed consent.

But following is not support, it can't be monetised and doesn't increase reach (other than by 1). I'd argue it's healthy to follow people you don't agree with, you get a better view of the world that way. Anyway, OP has now blocked me for no apparent reason, says it all really.

I followed him for about 6 hours(having no idea who he is) to see what all the fuss was about and found myself on 13 block lists and blocked by 40 people, others may follow as one of many on a starter pack. Why do you think it's a good metric to not only block but encourage others to block?

Absolutely agree, more an observation of the effect than the cause. Add to that troll farms engaging with every wedge issue on 'both sides' and a population unequipped to defend themselves, and Musk giving them the tools to be even more effective and it's no surprise really.

I suspect, with no proof, that the hostilities between us/them on twitter did create a "hive mind" on both sides and a degree of radicalisation, safety in numbers and all that. It may just be that the xodus creates more individualism and debate within a narrower world view here on bluesky.

Rereading, MI5 were nervous about interfering in elections, especially Brexit. Well worth a read, even with readactions.

Not quite, the report itself used evidence from Buzz Feed investigations + some other sources, it was MI5 and MI6 that didn't look for evidence, despite knowing it was going on. The reasons why were redacted (obviously told not to by the gov) and the whole Brexit case study was redacted.

Any examples of "his impulses" impacting journalists?

Add feeds that interest you, use starter packs, train the algorithm. These may be useful

I'll never forget, shortly after Russia invaded, Neil and Peston simultaneously tweeting (obviously coordinated) on the Lebedev scandal. They claimed it's now a story because there was some mysterious meeting we didn't know about before, they both ignored it previously.

Obviously not but my default position isn't to doubt them. Especially when the accused has also been accused my many other women (27 I believe), including children and has many recordings of his appalling attitude towards women.

Taking Elizabeth Carroll as an example, a jury found he penetrated her without consent. Were you unaware? Dismiss it because it was a civil case? Assume the Jury was politically motivated? Or are you just ok with it? How do you rationalise it?
