Every week I’ve seen at least four people announce the deaths of loved ones and it makes me realize that social media platforms really are part of people’s social circles. I honestly never thought of them that way, but these sites are part of our lives in real ways, I think.

Yes. When I see these takes from institutions it is baffling and somewhat anger-inducing to me. And I never thought of this, much more effective way to frame this type of thing. B/c they treat their staff this way, i.e., if we give good benefits & pay it will cost us, we will not be able to "xyz."
