I am also picturing another appearance of The Village People performing a song that by now someone has to have told him is not about a super fun visit to the Y. Well, I guess it is about a super fun visit to the Y, just not a straight one. 😭😭
Why are they so dumb and terrible?

I don't know what any of that is but it sounds like a crying shame of which I will do my absolute best to remain ignorant. 😭

All those people joking about Kid Rock and Ted Nugent better buckle up.

Yes, for sure during holidays or maybe when there are family events/visits or something. And even with eating out... Anyway, I do feel like ppl are doing the most for a range of reasons that actually have nothing to do w/eggs, & perhaps more w/how they or their loved ones voted in November. lol

This whole thing is giving me the eye opening perspective that for the wealthy white world (I mean extreme wealth), money doesn't seem to be viewed as something that sustains or supports, rather it seems to be something like a trinket to hold onto that conveys status? Still reflecting, but

One thing all of this brings up for me is the fact that these places have multi-million or -billion $$ endowments & endless donors. & I always wonder why/when they will dip into them to self-sustain & support at least temporarily.. But it is always the very *last* thing they consider (if ever).

Then they sit & look dumb wondering why I'm (we) not taking abuse trying to help or engage. When I tell you I've experienced it in the last couple of years. Whew.

When I hear of things like this, I just think whew, our foremothers in these professions back then were the strongest soldiers.
I mean, we experience this right today, and let me tell you when I sense it, I definitely leave them right to whatever it is they have an issue w/.

I can maybe think of a couple scenarios...
-Sports playing teens (especially in season), maybe? -Certainly if you eat/fix breakfast with/for them
-You live with the Brady Bunch
-You are starting a side business baking
I'm wondering what normal egg consumption looks like in people's homes?

I agree w/the lady who said it 1st in that thread. lol Someone else (who was an exaggerator I believe lol) said that the point is how much someone eat but that you should be able to afford it, and yes, but again, I have a hard time believing people are using 2-2½ dozen eggs a week.

I feel guilty looking for a new cobbler, and disappointed in advance.
Honestly, I think finding these things as much as understanding that good linens/towels (and area rugs) are $$$$ and necessary are hallmarks of adulthood.

I have been saying this about the egg thing, too. I have been paying $7-$10/carton of eggs (depending upon where I got them) for years, so I was surprised hearing ppl were paying $3 or thought $5 was a lot. Sounds like a deal to me from the NYC vantage point!

I mean ppl have the bad habit of aligning themselves with things that have nothing to do with them [at work] (capitalistic brainwashing?), so I could definitely see someone getting an attitude in that way.

Ugh. This sounds like something “the youth” would do, not actually fully listen to/read the inquiry & then act on what they think they understood. I feel like I can say this as someone who has worked directly w/several generations of “the youth.” Whatever the case, not helpful or supportive of AHA 👎🏽

I definitely find myself getting rattled occasionally and that’s rare for me. I was glad to see this statement included by org leadership. The statement was sensible, practical, realistic, which is depressing given the times we’re in, but it was helpful to read.
