If you see her peeing blood you should take her to the vet right away, though. An untreated UTI is both miserable for the kitty and potentially dangerous (infection can spread to the kidneys).

A UTI isn’t something that you’d necessarily see on a random check-up; they just develop sometimes. Female cats (like AFAB humans) are more prone to them than male cats because of their shorter urethra. It’s just an opportunistic bacterial infection that made its way to the bladder.

Entirely possible! Cats hate changes to their routine. Just keep an eye on her; my kitty had a UTI last year ON Thanksgiving (lmao rip) and the only sign prior to her peeing blood on a pile of my laundry was seeming anxious/jumpy. I noticed her being a bit fussier with the litter box but not much.

Frequent urination, peeing outside the box when they’re normally good with toileting, and bloody urine are all symptoms of UTIs, potentially. Alternately, if she’s had a big disruption to her routine or there’s been a lot of change she could just be anxious and acting out.

Have you noticed her going in and out of the litter box frequently today/the last day or two? Has she been peeing outside the litter box in other places? When cats have a UTI they can get agitated/distressed and start peeing in unusual places.

Anyway, if you like a creative's work, please tell us. Tell us what you like. Tell us what it means to you. Because we probably don't see it ourselves.
