Psychodrama 2: WC2010 (the match where Lampard's shot off the crossbar and over the line was not given), watched in an Amsterdam bar. My (non-British) wife got agitated by the "Germans" loudly cheering each German goal. I had to explain they were not Germans but Scots, which made her madder.

My personal Germany-England psychodrama 1: running around south Bombay on the night of late 2001 trying and failing to find a sports bar showing the match. Checking the internet later and thinking there must be some kind of mistake because the score was reported as 1-5.

I think the quality of 1960s street pharmaceuticals have a lot to answer for.

Movie you've seen more than six times with a gif. "Extremely HARD mode" No Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, Marvel, or Domestic(US) mainstream films.

What? You forgot the Celts, Romans, Vikings, Normans, etc.
More seriously, what does this rather ludicrous push by a bunch of dorks to forge an English ethno-philosophy say to the other inhabitants of the British Isles? And say about Jenrick with his feeble attempt to run with it?

Who gives a shit that Trump broke a norm by saying fuck on TV because Israel hurt his fee fees? If he were to actually remember that the US is supposed to be the senior power in its relationship with Israel and to reign in Netanyahu and his goons, that would be breaking a norm.

BBC neglects to mention Kemp's links to the IDF while sitting on the documentary about Gaza doctors because of concerns about bias. OK, then, Auntie.

Your mention of scorchio brought a lump to my throat because of how much I miss Caroline Aherne.

Thank you for your response. I suspected as much. Let us hope that some high-powered lawyers with principles will use this to attack what is an egregious example of weaponising the law in the service of bigotry.

Genuine question: does today's decision ban "trans healthcare for kids"? Or it bans gender-affirming care for trans kids, while allowing gender-affirming healthcare for cis kids? I am thinking of hormones for cis girls with facial hair or cis boys developing breasts.

Or so DOJ can tank the prosecution leading to acquittal and MN state charges are then framed by Fox etc. as Democrats abusing double jeopardy and politicising criminal justice.
Trump ain't that smart but plenty of DOJ Magats are.

That we are even considering the possibility of a president pardon for a political assassination is a sad indictment of our country.

Is the Taming of the Shrew a sexist play or a play about sexism?
Is the Merchant of Venice racist or about racism?
Is Richard II implied to be gay?
Those are a few frames off the top of my head for Ms Birbalsingh and I am a STEM graduate.
But I suspect she is not arguing in good faith.

It appears that shameless mendacity has replaced tax cuts for the 1% as the fundamental creed of religious reactionaries.

No doubt Trump phones are smaller and weigh far more than their official specs.
And pity they cannot call the new company TACO Bell since that is already taken.

I, like you Josh, am too young to remember Castro in his prime. But I recently watched the documentary "Soundtrack to a coup d'état" and when the young Castro appears, I am, like, this guy's charisma is off the charts! No wonder he was able to lead so many astray.

I think this thread oversells the show and undersells how Michael Connelly uses LA, the Valley and SoCal in general in the novels. He, Chandler and PT Anderson engendered my love for that city.

He is clearly setting out his stall for the party membership, for when Badenoch gets defenestrated because, sadly, demagogic bigotry is catnip to rank and file Tories, nowadays.
His problem is that Farage is far better at it.
I, for one, am not going to get too het up about him.

Whether it is appropriate or fiscally responsible is irrelevant. The looting is profitable for the looters and will continue until bankruptcy or government intervention puts an end to it.
It's a semi-respectable version of a bust out.

It's a tragedy. Not that this life-long creep is now so addled. But that this creature is POTUS and none of the vaunted checks and balances have worked when most needed. The USA is collapsing as a functioning polity and headed down a long, dark road.

These MSM articles about the sacrifices Musk or Trump etc. make to "serve" the public good are grotesque advertorials masquerading as news, planted by PR teams and greedily consumed by lazy journalists. They don't even rise to the level of gossip columns.

This thread is really annoying, btw. Starts off with Grace Kelly, who I would have chosen for that exact shot, then Walter Matthau, Orson Welles, Bob Hoskins coming to terms with imminent death, Rutger Hauer coming to terms with his imminent death - all were my ideas too!
